QA_ suzyq did tell me exactly the same as i have a pile of cards to enter also
that as long as they were giving out cards dont worry
I also have not seen a yawn post about this, however
I totally trust that was to the best of suzyq's knowledge and she is a tester also. :cool1: AND she is so sweet just awesome!!!

I do not doubt that SuzyQT is a awesome person or her word.

It is that she said as long as we are giving out cards that concerns me.

Since they are no longer giving out VIP cards, Pirates #1 or Haunted Mansion I would like assurance that yes those codes will still be good or No they will expire is all.

My recommendation would be that for those cards that the quest is no longer being used, they should be input into the game as soon as possible. While we have not turned off any of the retired cards, that is always a possibility. Any cards that are still being given as reward for current quests in the park should be fine regardless of the date on the back. Again, I would encourage people to input the codes when they get the cards to avoid any concern or confusion going forward. Hope this helps.

I hope this clears up any confusion I may have caused.

What about the PDF's that we get that still say exp Sept 30, as if someone winning it now is going to book a trip to get to Disney in two weeks for a vmk prize? I'll write the black hole about that, as it should really be changed since it's a in game prize, not something handed out while IN the park with access to their computers and all.

Please be sure to read the update in the first post: http://disboards.com/showpost.php?p=14395157&postcount=1

If you have any quest cards from retired quests, it's recommended that you enter them before the expiration date.

Retired quest items:
Haunted Mansion
Old Pirate quest
Gold Doors
VIP codes
( any others?)

Edit: I have been reminded of "Herbie" codes. :teeth: Not sure if they are still available in any DVD's or not.

Holiday quest, gold and white snowmen, blue wreath and soldier. VMK trivia strikes again. There's a plan, VMK Trivial Pursuit. :lmao:

I have a question about the VIP cards. Can you still turn them in at WDW and get a bunch of cards since they have cancelled the tour? If so, does anyone want to turn in some VIP cards?

Back in April I asked a cast member in VMK central about the VIP cards. He told me that they were only giving out the Gold collection when you hand in the VIP tour card. I believe the Gold collection is the prize now for finding all 50 the Hidden Mickey's so that would make sense. He suggusted I hold on to my VIP tour cards that they will be a rare card to have.

I had one early in the year and someone told me I could still redeem it. At DLR they gave/give you the Prize pack, 10 cards. They write redeemed on the back and gave me the card back.

Pink Nautilus Chair
Hippo rug
Lifestyle Poster
Safari rug
Rhino poster
Gorilla Poster
JC Explorer's Tent room
BTMR Teleporter
Cactus chair
Fantasyland Castle Retro pin

Thank you Stephen, I should have added that I was at VMK central in WDW. And I guess it depends on what cast member you talk to also.

Or how you ask them. When the thrill seekers quest first came out, I talked the CM into giving me an extra Safari room for one of my old VIP cards :)

So the consenus is I should enter in my other Herbie codes soon???? :rotfl2:

Yes and it sounds like the consensus is to attempt to turn in VIP cards because you might get something for them.

I didn't have the cards with me when I made the Prize pack list so I used VMKs card guide page. That might be the best information for what stuff is retired or not. Interesting thing is Invisibility magic card is NOT retired and the two new Pirate cards have not been added yet.

As far as Herbie codes, since there was never a card, did the codes come with any expiration notice?

I have 2 herbie certificates and they say at the bottom corner "redeemable through 9/30/06" at VMK.com
