Many thanks to all for you kind help and many good wishes, much appreciated.

Well the solicitor will notify ex within a week of my intentions.

Regarding settlement, solicitor is prepared to fight all the way for every penny he can get me. I am prepared to let go of my claim on his pension and a claim for lump sum maintenence for either the house or larger much larger share of profit from sale of the house. I can forsee trouble coming when he realises what he is not going to get is anywhere as near as what he is hoping.
