We flew JB out of EWR last week, the flight was delayed 2+ hrs so they gave us a $50 credit to be used within a year. Nothing against EWR, but Newark is a bear for us to drive to and from, Newburg is a little closer and apparently more rural.

My tentative plan is to drive the less than 2 hrs to there for an early flight and park on site and go, no Sleep/Fly. Any info on this airport, how easy/hard to navigate, etc. would be appreciated. I'd like to make use of the credit, but EWR is out.

Thanks,

Hi Bill! Newburgh is my local airport. It is tiny! But that's great...it means its maybe three minutes from long term parking to security to the gate. The long term lot is across from the terminal (there is only one). The price is great too...you won't regret SWF over Newark.

What is there to know? You park, cross the street go through security. Granted, I fly a lot and the security there can be the most thorough out of anywhere! But once through, you go up the escalator, hang a right and walk about 200 feet to the gate. And then just wait for your flight to be called.

Coming from Wilkes-Barre, the exit off I-84 is a little scary for a first time. Just follow the signs, it looks like you're in the middle of nowhere but just keep going.

I'll be flying down to MCO from SWF in December! Love my little airport.

Thanks, just what I wanted to hear. We've got two small local airports here but no direct flights and no JB. I'll rely on my GPS to make the exit and I always allow a ridiculous amount of time to get anywhere. Newburg it is!
