Info please on a1 Gig SD memory card?

I bought a San Disk 1 GB SD for my new digital. It was normally $79.99 but had a rebate for $20.

Okay so if I look at 8 megapixels, then I can take 317 pictures on a 1 gig card, but is that at the highest quality?

Definitely not. On my 20D (8 MP), 1 Gb card will give me about 250 shots.

I have a Nikon Coolpix P1. So I am thinking maybe with the 2 cards, probably 400 pics total. Does that sound right then?
