Info on waterparks with wheelchair

Hi all, we are considering a water park with our 15 year old who has cp and uses a wheelchair. He has never been to the waterparks and wants to try it.would anyone have any info or could point me to a place to find out how they handle mobility issues? Thanks in advance for your help!

I can't say for certain, but I'm not sure there is really any way to handle mobility issues when it comes to the slides. Many, if not all, have stairs that have to be climbed to get to the entry point.

Seconding this. I don't believe there are any kind of wheelchair friendly entrances for slide and rides, etc unfortunately.

If he's able to handle the lines/steps for some of the rides, he'd be okay. There is no FP option, and therefore, no DAS or alternate waiting areas.

At Blizzard Beach, there is a gondola car for the chairlift to get someone in a manual wheelchair to the top to access at least one waterside. At Typhoon Lagoon, there is an elevator for use in accessing one waterslide. (Someone in the party should be at the bottom to assist a disabled rider exit- Disney staff doesn't provide assistance and will not lift anyone into/out of a wheelchair).


The lazy rivers are accessible at various points. Both wave pools have zero entry points as well. I believe wheelchairs that can be used in the water are available for loan (first some, first served).

Restrooms and food service areas are accessible.

The gondola at bizzard is good and gives access to a few slides but there is still quite a bit of walking to do once you get off the lift to get to most rides. The lift in Typhoon is for the crusha gusha roller coaster type ride 9 very good) but that park has very little else to offer disabled (one other thing they can do without walking is the swimming with the mini sharks -but we are no fans of fish kept in artificial environments for our entertainment. both parks have lazy rivers that are easier to access with help.
