I am new at sb: I have been collecting a lot of things to start but haven't started yet. Was wondering about using wire to embellish. Have seen great pages with it. Don't know what guage wire to get, etc. (like tools, etc) Any suggestions & where to buy (store or internet) also simple how to guide to get me started. Would appreciate any input Thanks!.:D

I use wire sparingly. I started out by buying the kit of 12 colors. I believe it is 24 gauge. I also use a size just a bit bigger. I think it might be about 20 gauge.

Most of the tools that are recommended can be improvised with things you probably already have. I use an old pair of scissors for cutters and a nail to wind the wire. There was a pair of needle nose pliers in my kitchen junk drawer so I confiscated them. I bought a jig and I think I will probably invest in a pair of the nylon jaw pliers.

If you are just starting out I would recommend to forgo the wire until you have had a chance to play around with the basics and developed your own style, so to speak.
Here is a link that might help you

THANKS CHESSIE FOR THE ADVICE. THAT LINK LOOKS GOOD. I PROBABLY WON'T DO THE WIRE FOR THE FIRST BOOK I DO, BUT IT DOES LOOK INTERESTING FOR THE FUTURE. THANKS FOR INFO!:D
