Info on the elusive Alaska pin...

I called the one store in Alaska to find out WHY there are no traders out there with that pin AND there are no listings on eBay. My only conclusion was that they were limiting the pin to 1 per person. The manager said though that people were allowed to buy up to 2 pins. So where are the Alaskan pin traders and why aren't they trading?

I called and talked to the Alaska store, too. The castmember told me that they were the only store in Alaska and that they were sold out within a half-hour of opening. I didn't think to ask her how many they had in total, but it sounds like this one is definitely a VERY limited edition.

I just talked to Disney Home Base about this and other small state pin numbers. They are looking into this, and will call me back. I'll let you know as soon as I have any information.

The Alaska store told me that they got 2 boxes. IM{ns}HO 24 pins is a bit too limited.

Add Montana to this list - Only one store I called there but no luck. The only ones I can find on ebay are the Disney proof pins. None here or on dizpins & pinpics.

Just wondering if anyone has heard anything back from Disney about the small number of pins for certain states...

You'd think that if there was only ONE store in the entire state that there would be a huge demand for the pins and then there's pin trading. How do they expect people to trade if there were only 24 pins. That means there are probably only 12 people who have Alaska pins.

And if another store got 164 pins...how does that equate? Very very odd...

I am really hoping that more state pins come out. Even 164 pins...there are more than 164 pin traders in the entire Disney-fan-dom.
Oh well...here's hoping we get some answers and hear some positive info from Disney about this.

I haven't tried to contact Disney but I did call the Montana store again. I asked if they had any ideas and they suggested ebay Still none on this site, dizpins or pinpics. Since Montana & Texas are the only states I've really lived in so the only State Pins I want I quess a pre-production pin will have to do.

I got one of the pre-production Montana Pins. Thought this might be the best and cheapest route although it was much more than the pins in the store. Can't wait for that package from Disney now!

The Alaska store got 72 pins. My Mom is an Asst. Manager at our local WA store which is in the same district as the Alaska store so she is acquainted with the managers and called up there to ask. And FYI for the state flag pins they were packaged in boxes of 36. So 2 boxes= 72 pins. Some stores received additional pins, shipped in boxes of 12. For example, my Mom's store received 2 large boxes and 3 smaller boxes.

Of course, since she is friendly with the people up there, I've been waiting patiently (or rather impatiently ) because she's trying to work out a trade for me with one of the CM's who bought an extra for their personal use. We'd only be getting one pin if this works out, so I won't end up with any extras for trades.
