info on SoCal AP

So I know this question has been asked before and I know I've asked it but never got a definitive answer until this weekend, so I thought I would share to help those where it may apply.

Our situation is we have a family of five where our SoCal passes expire in December. We all know that you can't buy SoCal AP new and I asked what happens when our daughter turns 3. We were at the ticketing booth renewing our AP and the lady said that Disney will allow us to buy a SoCal AP for our daughter at full price when the times comes for her to get one. She said Disney does not want to separate immediate family members and so that's why we can buy it for our daughter but the SoCal tickets are not available for any other situation such as me buying it for my sibling, etc.

I asked if this was widely known and if everybody should know this or if only the seasoned employees knew this and she said everybody should know this rule. She said if the person you're working with doesn't know this rule, you should ask to speak to a lead and they should be able to help you out.
