I have reservations for xmas night at V&A for dinner and was wondering how much this will set me back? I was also wondering if they serve a holiday style dinner. Thanks for your help as this is my treat as a thank you to my DH for getting me away for the holidays. I still can't believe i'm going on a 10 day cruise followed by 5 night at DW it's the first christmas i've looked forward to in a long time.

Wow. Sounds like a great trip coming up!! I have always thought about V&A for dinner on XMAS eve (or New years eve). But we're never down at WDW then:(
I really don't know if they have any "special menu" but if another poster can't help, just call V&A dirctely at 1-407-824-1089. If you call after 6:00 they'll answer right away. If you call earlier, they'll call you back.
AS to the cost--
$85.00 per person, not including drinks. Add $35.00 if you get the wine pairing. Add $45.00 if you get the "special" wine pairing. And then add 20% tip.
So for Mrs u and I it was 170$$ for the meal itself ($85.00 each) plus another 90$ (45.00 each) for the wine pairings. Total: $260.00 Plus a tip of $55.00--grand total, $315.

Not cheap by any stretch. You can do it for less if you don't drink anything--but in my opinion the quality of the meal (and the whole evening) goes way down. They do have mixed drinks and a few beers they offer, and you could also just get one bottle of wine instead of the pairings.
Hope this helped--!

You can also split a wine pairing and each get half a glass per course. That's what we did, as I could not drink that many full glasses of wine and still enjoy the evening. They even brought us different wines that were selected to go with our food. It was perfect for us.

My brother and sister-in-law spent over $300 for two on their honeymoon 5 years ago. They did the wine pairings.

We were thinking of sending my in-laws here for dinner, but they always split meals and do not drink any alcohol. Would this be a problem? They are very small people (MIL is 110 lbs), eat out a lot, and always split meals. If this wouldn't work at V&A, we need to mark it off the list of possibilities.

I really doubt they could split a meal, as it is a fixed price per person for the set menu including all of the courses.

It is not a good choice for a couple who always split meals, in my opinion. Especially if part of the reason they do that is for cost savings. I know, for example, my husband's parents would go berserk if they knew how much we spent for that much food. Not drinking alcohol is no problem though.

I would also add that if they are really set on the whole meal-splitting thing, they may not be happy at the buffets either, because everyone has to pay the full price there.

We had reservations for Christmas eve...we were told that there may be a higher charge than normal for that evening because of the holidays/special items.

Thanks, I wasn't sure if VA had a set price menu. I hadn't been interested until I saw this post, so I hadn't read the menu. It was a passing whim that has been cured. No, this isn't the place for them. My size 4 MIL can't eat a whole burger much less a gourmet meal. They don't do buffets either as they are very weight conscious, plus it's not a good deal for them. I was also interested in VA for dh and me when we go w/out the kids until I read this thread. That would pay for our scuba diving on the cruise we hope to take the week before our WDW trip in June. I love good food, but I'd rather be diving. I'll just live vicariously through Uncle Romulus and others.

Uncle Romulus, don't you have a food replicator so you can avoid those prices? For that matter, how about a holodeck where you can simulate the whole experience?

Great idea!! A"holodeck" meal at V&A. I could have Yeoman Rand as Victoria, and Mrs. U could have Riker as Albert.

Or maybe Dr. MCcoy as Albert and Dr. Pulaski as Victoria??

Well, if I could pick my Victoria and Albert, I'd take Worf for my Albert and dh could have K'Ehleyr (I can't remember the sp, but it's close). IRL my dh and I met in a Trek chat room.

We've never been to V&A but a 'holodeck' version would work for us. DH wants 'Seven of Nine' or Tpol as Victoria. I'd be happy with Riker, Worf or Paris as Albert.
