My Virginia-Connecticut-Nevada extended family group has four garden view rooms for 10 nights January 18-28! My "birthday party," I am turning forty-ten. I can't wait to see pictures. Have stayed at GF about 10 times, and have loved the refurbs at CR and Poly.
Go to the GF FAQ. On page 381 there are pictures of the rehabbed rooms. Also on the last several pages there is a lot of discussion about which buildings are finished.
I believe they are finishing Sugar Loaf and one Disser just reported that Sago is not done. It seems that most of the rest are finished, but go read the thread for more accurate info. I am doing this by memory which is no longer reliable.
Thanks, decor looks toned down a lot--reminds me of the drastic (and very welcome) toning down of the CR decor. I actually like the change. Really pretty. Adorable princesses in those pictures, too, lucincia!
Any other pix out there? Hate to be greedy, but love pictures of my favorite place. I'm sure the thread owner, Bama Tigger, would not mind getting a few more, too! Will also check out page 381 (wow!!!!!!!!) of the GF thread, as 3For pointed out. Thanks!!
Also, anyone know the refurb schedule? Hope it is done soon!!!!!
umm...am I the only one who thought the old decor was more inviting and warm and disneyesque? I think the rooms are pretty, but that's it, there doesn't seem to be any Disney to it? I'm kind of bummed out, the other rooms were so warm looking.
We stayed in Sago last Christmas and truthfully the refurbished rooms look just like what we had except the colors are more muted now. GF is a fabulous resort and you will enjoy it!
I will miss all of those more colorful bedspread patterns--they are more unusual and Disneyfied, I agree. (Disney nostalgia--we all get it--I still miss "Horizons" and the Annual Passholder lounge, for starters--the list goes on and on.......got an hour?) But I like the lighter colors, too, and love the fact that the GF rooms are spruced up!!! I am so revved up for GF in January.
I'm with you. This looks kinda J.C. Penney to me. BUT, I do like it when things feel NEW, and sometimes it's fun to stay in a room that is very different from your decor at home... Mainly when I'm at WDW, though, I'm interested in how close I am to the Magic Kingdom. GO MONORAIL RESORTS!!!

The comforters have a hidden Tink and the chair has Mickey. However truly there is no way to please everyone. Many did not like the previous decor either.
Seeing things in person DOES make a big difference. And I'm totally in love with the subtle TINK on the bedspread... Should have known Disney would do right by the details!
