Info on driving from Orlando to the Everglades

We have several free days during our June trip to Disney.My 8 yo son is studying the Evergades in school and is begging me to take him then How long is the drive to the state park there? (that is where we would go,correct?) I'm thinking t least 3 hours.Also,being from the NE,I'm afraid we'll melt there in June.What is you advice????TIA

You can get to the start of the Everglades right there in Orlando. It is a very cool experience. I live fairly close to the Everglades down here. It is about a 3 hours drive. I have lots of information on how to get to the Everglades. If you want to PM me I can give you more information.

Michelle,thank you so much for your reply.Three hours doesn't sound so bad.I'm now just wondering about the activites and if we will be able to tolerate the heat and bugs in June>
