Info on concierge rooms anyone????

Out of all the times I've been to DL over all of the years (geezer that I am), I have never really known what this means!! Please offer some insight. What extra things are offerred? Do you find it worth it?

I just booked a 4-day package stay & set up my customary non-concierge room (hey, it was cheaper), & got to wondering what the difference really is. For a few hundred $$ more, we can have the same room, but w/ concierge...

PLEASE, somebody tell me what that means because I couldn't find the specifics anywhere on the "official" Dis. site.

I've stayed concierge at both the DL Hotel and the GC, and yes, we felt it was worth it.

At both hotels concierge service includes access to the concierge lounge, which features continental breakfast items, free bottled water and soda, light snacks during the day and an evening wine and cheese service for about two hours. The concierge staff will also assist you with dining and transportation reservations, and any questions you have. We like it just for the convenience of breakfast and it's nice to relax in the lounge in the evening with the wine and cheese.

Another small perk is a DVD player and dvd loan out's , have never taken advantage of this one, will try this on my next trip in Nov.
And used to have Express check in, Did'nt have to waite in line downstairs with everyone else, we were taken upstairs to the concierge lounge and checked in, did'nt have to wait till 3:00.
nice when you are trying to caroll the kids and check in and get to the park before it gets to late.

That's only at the GC, not at DLH or PPH.

Usually concierge service gets you a bigger room too, so queen beds instead of doubles. We've only stayed at the DLH, but we've done concierge several times, and have concluded it's the way to go. We usually have breakfast in the lounge, then a big lunch, and then snacks in the lounge for dinner. That plus the free water almost pay for the difference in rates.

If you're staying multiple nights, it's kind of fun to watch the fireworks from the lounge. They turn down the lights and pipe in the music. There's free cookies and coffee or hot chocolate.

We're just back from a 3 night stay at GC, concierge, 1 bedroom suite, and I don't think we've ever enjoyed a hotel experience this much before. From the moment we pulled into the hotel driveway the service was awesome. It was just a matter of minutes from the time we got out of our car, checked-in and were on our way to our room. We were escorted by concierge staff from the car through check-in. The bellhop who took us to our room was wonderful. Our suite was incredible. A huge living room area with a pullout sofa, wet bar, empty fridge, tv with DVD, couple of comfy chairs and sliders to the balcony. The bedroom had 2 queens, another tv, and another door to the balcony. The bathroom has double sinks - in a huge space, and the toilet and shower were separate from the sinks. We took advantage of the concierge lounge for 2 breakfasts - a nice assortment of pastries, bagels, cereal, fruit, juices and coffee. The lounge staff was always attentive and helpful. During the day, there was always water, soda, coffee and lemonade and chips available. Cookies were put out in late afternoon or evening. Very nice trays of cheeses and appetizers with wine available from 5-7. We watched fireworks from the balcony - awesome! They do offer free DVD's - a great selection for younger kids, less for teens/adults. Our room was made up quickly every day and we loved the turndown service - little chocolates and a notecard were left each evening. Without a doubt, this was expensive, but to us it was so worth every dollar!

Now that I'm all hyped, the concierge rooms are all gone for my promotion!

Everyone has been so inspiring with all of this great insight about the real deal w/ concierge -- THANKS! Of course, as you can see, I am still being cheap not willing to give up that promotional "fall getaway" rate!!!!

Don't give up - keep calling back just in case someone cancels. We started with a single concierge room, then decided to go for a 1 bedroom suite so we'd have more room. First time I called, everything was booked. Couple weeks later, I tried again and got lucky. It's worth a few phone calls. Good luck!
