I haven't been able to find this again and am glad I printed this off. It has been very helpful to us and thought it would be to others too.
From Kathy's "K"ollections:
..."Try not to open the bags as the topy name can be read on the base of the toy by gently pulling the bag over the title... Also, if your McDonald's allows you to trade back in your doubles your toys are still mint."

I have been doing this and have had no problems with trading in duplicates. I do wait until they are not busy. Otherwise can appear to be impatient with trading back. It's not unusal for them to say a disclaimer such as, "We don't know what's in this bag." (etc)

"The toy promotion are grouped according to case letter... A through H. There are 12-13 different toy types (characters) per case.... Each case has about 150 toys."

"Case A (13 toys): Sebastian, Flounder, Daisy, Sleepy, Donald, Mickey, Hercules, Dumbo, Blue Genie, Bashful, Phil, Tramp, Jasmine, Tantor.

Case B (12 toys): Thumper, Dopey, Lucky, Happy, Grumpy, Sleepy, Sneezy, Lady, Terk, Little John, Timothy Mouse, Sleeping Beauty.

Case C (13 toys): Robin Hood, Maleficent, Dragon, Doc, Ariel, Aladdin, King Louie, Blue Fairy, Mulan, Pinocchio, Kuzco, Penguin, Bianca.

Case D (12 toys): Pluto, Huey/Duey/Louie, Pumbaa, Cheshire Cat, Geppetto, Flowerr, Meeko, Apprentice Sorcerer's (Mickey), Simba, Belle, Snow White, O'Malley

Case E (12 toys): Brer Fox, Goofy, Pocahontus, Abu, Jafar, Jiminy Crickey, Band Concert Mickey, Uncle Scrooge, Kida, Mowgli, Tarzan, Steamboat Willie

Case F (13 toys): White Rabbit, Mary Poppins, Mad Hatter, Minnie Mouse, Quasimodo, Cinderella, Beast, Chip, Dale, Alice, Esmeralda, Buzz, Prince Charming

Case G (12 toys): Big Bad Wolf, Timon, Ponchito, Jose, Jaq, Brer Bear, Brer Rabbit, Bernard, Flik, Fifer Pig, Winnie Pooh, Jane

Case H (13 toys): Baloo, Bambi, Roan (witch), Cruella De Ville, Milo, Dutchess, Gus, Elliot, Fiddler's Pig, Practical Pig, Brave Little Tailor, Woody, Jessie "

Makes a little more sense on what you get now, doesn't it? :) Hopefully I got it all. LMK if you have ?

DH and I just GENTLY press the white plastic over the name on the base of the figurine. Sometimes they are easy to read. Sometimes it takes a lot of looking, including bright light and reading glasses. ;)
Some of these characters also have plastic forms covering their base, whole body or head. (Jafar on his head, Cinderella's entire form, Brer Fox's base, etc.)
One of the dwarf's we had to guess by looking as closely at the face as we could.
We just don't damage the outside package in any way in case we need to trade it in.
Flounder -- I could see his colors as soon as I picked up the bag! ;)
I haven't had any problems trading them in, esp if you go when they aren't busy. I have even seen them stand around and try to guess what's inside in dull moments. ;)
Good luck!
