The dates, times, and sign up link for the December 2024 Member Meetings are now posted on the DVC website.
Note that the meeting on December 12 is at 11:00 am, instead of the usual 2 pm.

Thanks - they didn't make it easy to find, did they? I felt like I had to know what to look for and where to look.

Can anyone who has attended the main member meeting in past years tell me how long the whole thing usually lasts?

In the past, the December meeting lasted about an hour, depending on how much news they had decided to share with us (or not, like the 2020 points charts that caused so much consternation), and when they had the reception afterwards (where we got a cookie, some punch, and a chance to visit with DVC staff) I think that lasted about an hour as well.

This year of course is completely different, and I see that the individual resort meetings on Tuesday and Wednesday December 10 & 11 start an hour apart, so I’m guessing they’re expecting them to last at most 45 minutes. I think the member reception on Thursday December 12 has a stated time, but I can’t remember what that is.

Edited to correct refreshments at post-meeting reception - we got punch, not lunch!

Anyone know how strict they are about "members only"? I am travelling with my best friend who is not a member, but we would like to attend the reception before we head to the parks for the afternoon. Will they allow her in as my "guest"? If she can't get in, then we won't go...it's not a huge deal. I have never travelled in December before and I don't think I will again so I'd like to attend for the experience.

We're newer members and were wondering if the individual resort meetings are usually well attended or if it's something to skip?

It used to be one meeting a year, one day in December, for all WDW resorts combined. The Florida condominium and cooperative statutes now require four quarterly meetings a year for each resort and the effective date to begin the first of such quarterly meetings is December 2024. The Cabins of Ft Wilderness are not covered by that law because it is not a condominium resort like the other DVC resorts. It is required to have only one meeting per year. The DVC resorts not in Florida are also not subject to that Florida law.

In prior years the single meeting was fairly well-attended and could actually be followed online via members who were continuously reporting what was going on while they were in attendance.

How long will the "general reception" last? Any ideas? I was thinking about an hour so I booked a WCC lunch for 12:45. If it's going to be longer, I will switch our reservation back to 1:50.
