Wondering if any of you are familiar with the Cleveland area? We have tickets for the"Lion King" July 5 at the State Theatre on Euclid Ave. (Playhouse Square Center) How is the parking? Is it a structure? How about restaurants? We were thinking of having lunch before the matinee. Anyother helpful info would be appreciated. We are only staying for the play no other site seeing.

The theater is beautiful. There is parking across the street, well just a little east of the theater on the south side of the street. If that is full there are a few behind that one. Not sure of the cost though.

There are several restaurants in the area. If you like chinese, I highly recommend the Hunan Renansaince (sp) which is on East 13th St. Which is really across the street. Here is a list of restaurants within walking distance: http://www.playhousesquare.com/Tourinfo/INDEX.CFM

Yes, the Playhouse is beautiful... I've seen a show or two in there as well...


There are definetely lots around, and then they were clearly marked. Is that a Saturday? I'm not sure what the street parking rules on a Saturday are anymore. I do know we used to park for FREE all the time on Sundays years ago.


Obviously you don't want a bright orange sticker (ticket) for being illegally parked.

I'll ditto the recommendation of the Hunan Renaissance -- awesome, slightly upscale Chinese restaurant.

As far as parking, you could also pre-purchase parking in the Playhouse Center lot -- which is attached to the theatre via overhead walkway. It's usually like $6 or so and a very secure, convenient lot.
