Headed to WDW in November with my daughter who will be 5 months old. What are your best traveling with an infant secrets? How did your manage food for an infant? And last question we use glass baby bottles will they be allowed in the park in a soft cooler/lunch box?

Baby food jars are allowed so I would think so. I don't think I have even seen that addressed. Glass in normally not allowed.

DD wasn't eating a ton of solids when we went to WDW, so we didn't really worry about it for the 5 days we were there. She was still pretty much EBF (expressed milk, as I EP). We bought a hiking backpack (narrower than normal backpacks) for our in-park diaper bag. Along with all of the normal diaper bag things, we brought in enough bottles for all of her "meals" throughout the day (the pump and pump parts also fit). We carried a cooler with EBM in it, as well. We asked for a cup/bowl of hot water at restaurants to warm up her bottle when it was time (at the time, she would not drink it cold).

The hot water trick was successful about 50% of the time. Most of the time the water cooled off before it fully warmed the bottle (even though that doesn't happen at home and we warm her bottles in water at home too). As inconvenient as it might be to get to the BCC's, they might be the most reliable way to warm a bottle (as they have a microwave you could warm water in to warm the bottle..or to warm the bottle directly, if it's not BM).

No idea as to whether or not they'll allow glass bottles in the park.

We used glass bottles and no one ever questioned it entering the parks. We did use a silicone sleeve on our bottles though. Evenflo sells some with the silicone, it might be a good compromise.

Nurture Me has freeze dried powder baby food, if she is on solids. The apple was best for us and easy to travel with, just mix wit water. Then you have a dirty container tho so regular baby food may be easier?

I also EPd so not sure if my experience relates. We asked for hot water in a coffee mug to warm a bottle. If you formula feed I'm sure you've seen or used the little dispensers that you can have pre measured amounts in to dump in bottles. We had munchkin brand ones from target (they work well for little snacks too which is what I used them for). Or you could pre measure in your bottles. I'd probably bring in bottled water to mix.

Have fun!

The baby food pouches are especially easy for travel. They even make spoons that you can attach directly to the pouch to squeeze the food onto. When you're done, throw the pouch out and you only have to carry the spoon.

I agree with the OP about using a silicone sleeve for your glass bottle. Disney just doesn't want the mess of broken glass. Other visitors probably won't care and most CMs are way too young to know the subtle differences in baby bottle types.

You can definitely bring glass bottles for your baby. When Ds was a baby, I used the single serve ready to feed bottles of formula when we vacationed. They are glass and I never had a problem bringing them into the parks.

I was going to suggest the pouches.....not needing a spoon is awesome.....at 5 mos u may want it but my baby never cared for a spoon....just squirt it into their mouth.

They also have pouches of applesauce near the fruit cups that are marketed to older kids....they r cheaper than the apple baby food but the same thing....my big kids like them for traveling too.

Is your baby actually eating solids already at 5 mod? We tried solids at 7 1/2 mos, but he didn't actually start letting us feed him anything until 10 months. If you haven't started yet, just wait to make it easier on yourself. At 5 mos they don't need it yet anyway. And if you already are, then yes, I suggest those packets for easy feeding.

5 months isn't very young for solids. My dd started about then although she was dive bombing my plate to get at my food so she had no problems actually eating.

Glass bottles are allowed. Gerber babyfoods come in 2 packs of plastic containers for Stage 1 or 2.

It might be easier to wait for solids until you come back from vacation. It's hard to find a place to feed the baby. There aren't reclining high chairs available in baby care, they are more toddler/older infant appropriate. Strollers aren't allowed in the baby care centers and it's hard to find a quiet enough place to feed them. I barely got my daughter at 8 months to eat anything on our last trip.

Oh I know some people start solids really early like that (I had friends that started at 4 months, and we chose to wait a lot longer), I was just saying that if they haven't yet, they should just wait to make it easier because there is no real "need" yet for most babies.
