This will be our first trip to WDW with our 7-month-old twins. We will be staying in a DVC 2-bedroom, so we will have a full kitchen, jacuzzi tub, and tub/shower in the 2nd bedroom. What will be the best way to bathe the babies? Do I need to bring an infant tub seat? Can I buy an inexpensive one there, and just leave it behind?

You could always do bath in the sink since you say it has a kitchen. I'm sure the sink would be big enough.

Are they crawling or would they lay still on one of those foam mats laid in bottom of tub with just a teeny amount of water. Or they could always sit on the bath mat towel in very shallow water without slipping too much if they sit well on their own. Really depends on their levels.

We used to always travel with one of those inflatable toddler-size tubs (sits inside the big tub). I think it was about 10 bucks at Target. Very convenient since it took up very little room in the suitcase.

At that age with DS, DH would just hold him in the shower and wash him off. With two babes, you can stand outside the shower with the other and switch off (then dry off the clean one). Just try a few showers at home first - not all babies like showers (ours loved them, and still does at almost 3 yrs old)!

I second the inflatable tub. We loved ours when DS was an infant. And it's perfect for traveling.

If fits just fine in the jacuzzi tub, too.

LOL! My DD is 3 and loves her shower too! She has never been afraid of the water though!

If you can find something that is small enough to fit in your suitcase then you could do that or I would just put a small amt of water in the tub and place the babies one at a time on the mat in the water. Wash that one and then have your dh trade off the other child. One washes while the other dries kinda thing. Are they still in infant carriers? If so, you could put one in their car seat while the other is being washed. Don't worry, it won't be as hard as you think! Have a great vacation!

You have a few options--

* Use the kitchen/bathroom sink
* Buy inflatable tub there or bring with you
* Get an insert for baby tubs and use in sink
* Buy bathmat and just sit in tub (What I personally did when DS#2 was 7m)
* Buy a baby bath when you get there
* Rent a baby bath from a baby supply company
* Sponge baths

We bought the Munchkin brand inflatable duck tub from Target for $10 and used it when traveling. In our case, our ds developed a huge fear of bathtubs about the time we started traveling with him so the Duck tub really helped with that. It was a lifesaver actually since we couldn't exactly travel with his large plastic tub we normally used at home. There are also a couple of brands of disposable baby washcloths (already loaded w/soap) you can buy that I think would be really handy for traveling as well.

I would definetly do either the shower or the inflatable tubs. These take very little space, just remember to dry it well and let it air before you deflate it and put it back in your suitcase. They even have small ones and larger ones.

I personally would never sit myself (and my dd even less) in a hotel sink or tub, even sitting on a mat or towel or anything, you never know how well the tub is washed.

We did the shower option when our kids were that age and traveling. My husband stood outside the shower while I took turns with the kids in the shower. Since they were infants, I've washed them in the tub with a handheld shower and gotten them used to shower spray in the face. Now ages 6 and 2 (she of course isn't standing in there by herself), they still do showers. Makes it easy to travel.

Have a great and clean trip!

If they are sitting up by themselves..as 7 month olds often are..they can just sit in the tub (with just a few inches of water in it) on a towell to make it less slippery with ready hands to grab in case of a tip over. (maybe one at a time -or each of you 'at the ready' for one each). (whoa...major run on sentance!) We did this with my oldest (don't think inflatable tubs were available back then) and it worked out fine. When he was younger and not sitting up we just rolled one towell up for a head rest and put another underneath him. Easy, cheap and less stuff to pack!! You might have to ask for a few axtra towells from housekeeping, however!

You can pick up a cheap sponge bath bear at Walmart or ToysRus. My baby is now a toddler and he won't let his rear end touch the tub, so he sits on his bath bear. They are easy to wash, just throw it in the laundry.

put them both in the tub together and you and your DH can both give them a bath at the same time, that is if they sit up on there own. Of course never taking your eyes or hands off them. They will feel safer together in there, throw a few toys in, they will love it. Of course don't forget to get a few cute pictures of your munchkins first baths in the big tubby!

I used one of those plastic tubs once. That was enough! I use to take the baby in the shower with me. If my husband was home we could easilyhand him off if not I brought the baby chair in the bath room with it lined with a taowel take my shower reach for him bathe him then put him in the towel then I would step out and all was done quick quick.

We went last October when my DD was 7 months and I used an inflatable tub. I'm not sure where you're staying but we were at Old Key West and the Kitchen sink there was split so that would not work for bathing a baby. Have a great trip.

I think this is really interesting. My mom would never let us use the tub at hotels. We do use them but I always tend to "rewash" them with shampo or bar soap or dish detergent if I have that along. If the tub does not look very clean on arrival we do not use it anyway. Any one else have these concerns??

As a infant, after DS had just a little head control, we always put him in the bath tub with us. He loved it and it was so easy. We did make sure the other one was there to get him out as wet babies are VERY slick.
We did have an inflatable tub but DS never really did too well in it.

I would not recommend the jacuzzi tub in the master BR - it's too deep and (I think) too big, unless you get in there with them yourself.

I liked the inflatible tub idea or the sink - I can't recall, but I think it's one bigger sink and not a side-by-side.

I always bathed with Madison when she was a infant, even at home. Like isla bonita, we used the plastic bathtub once and that was it (well, okay, we actually used it 3 times, but then never again). I'd try to bathe with her when my husband was home, but when he wasn't I'd do the same thing, bring her travel swing in the bathroom with me, let her swing while I showered, then I'll fill the bathtub, bring her in the tub, then put her in her towel in the swing while I got out.

On vacation we did the same thing most of the time (we even brought the travel swing). We also bought one of those sponge bears and used that for our first WDW trip when she was a little under 3 months old. We put the sponge in the sink and bathed her on that if she didn't come in the tub with me (sometimes my SILs or cousins would bathe her while I showered to save time). Since they harbor bacteria we'd throw it out at the end of the trip (we got them a few times).

We have an inflatable tub at home that I use often now since I don't bathe with her as often. Madison loves the inflatable tub and I think it's so much easier than the big bathtub because you can lean them against the back to wash their hair, plus if they slide it's a soft cushion they crash into, not the hard tub wall.
