DH coaches dd10's team -this is the 5th season, and I've always put together a little gift for the girls but am running out of ideas- last time was head bands. I've always made a candy label from the team picture to wrap around a hershey bar- that's getting old. We have 12 girls so I can't order too much in bulk and want to keep it around $2-4. Any websites or ideas? thanks in advance.

Have you looked at Epicsoccer.com to see if they have any inexpensive soccer items?? I would check there.

Everyone is cutting back and no one would expect you to keep up with your extremely thoughtful and generous gifts.

One year instead of trophies, etc., the coach printed certificates that has something to do with each girl's talents.
It was pretty awesome.
DD framed hers.

I agree with the pre-wrap suggestion! Maybe in a glittery color or a neon color.
I'm pretty sure you can buy that online in sets of dozen!

One year dh coached a co-ed team and we gave out those reusable water bottles filled with wrapped candy.
:)

thanks for the ideas. Since the seasons only last about 5 months, we're doing this twice a year! Last time I ordered headbands with soccer balls on them, had printed certificates and the hershey bars. I will still do the certificates as I like that dh makes a quick note when handing it out with the trophy to each girl about her special talent. But I'm only looking to spend $2-3 each -so maybe I'll look into the water bottles and fill with candy. I found some colorful ones on Oriental Trading with flowers on them for $15.99 a dozen. That should work depending on their shipping costs. We usually pay for pizza for the team(and extras for family) so the last day usually costs about $50 total. Trying to cut costs where I can. But this year I think we'll be doing bagels & donuts since the game is at 9am and most of the team has siblings playing later. SO that should help. Thank you again for the great ideas!

You are generous - DH has been coaching at least one team a season for almost 15 years (and the same travel soccer team for 8 years), and my kids are on at least 8 different teams each year. We've never gotten a gift from the coach (or expected one), and the parents on the teams usually chip in for a gift for the coach/coaches.

I made fleece iScarves for DD birthday party participants instea of a goody bag. I just bought 1 yard of print fleece (DD chose black with white dog prints), a half yard of white fleece (still have some left, but 1/2 yard is safe) and then 2 yards of cute trim, mine was white puff balls.

I cut the fleece to 4" by the width of fabric, then sewed on the trim for each end, and then cut a 3 1/2" by 5 1/2" patch of fleece and sewed it into the center about 8" from one end. It made a cute pocked to put an iPod or a phone or something. Easy to do and I ended up with 8 scarves for about $14 total.

Check with parents fro pictures. DD8's coach one year made a photo CD, compilation of the season. Each girl got a copy, but DD's CD had her picture front and center and each girls' was personalized that way, with the date and team name

Awesome ideas, thanks! We have a tournament this weekend so I will see if I can have the team mom(i'm not going to be there on friday just saturday) take pics for me and see if we can have parents email or photoshare some of their pictures from the season. DH made a great photo CD like that for the grandparents for xmas a few years back so he should be able to do that for this. Great thought- thanks!
