Does anyone have any inexpensive hotels ($50-$75/night) that they can recommend? I see so many on the list and have no idea which one to choose. I checked the Best/worst thread and there are several properties that are listed. The hotel will be for me and my 7 yr old DS and I would like a fun pool and within close proximity to Disney/Universal. We plan on going the first week of September, which hopefully won't be too crowded.

Thanks for any help.

If you read the thread Comfort Suites Maingate (not East), you can see that I would recommend the Comfort Suites Maingate EAST. It will also explain how to get an extremely attractive rate of $48/night.
Have a great trip and post any other questions that you have.:wave2:

If you feel up to it, think of possibly trying priceline. For the prices you listed you might even be able to get a resort level hotel near WDW.

For that price range, you could do better than a hotel. Take a look at the 2-bedroom condos at Windsor Palms.

The complex has a nice pool, game room, exercise room, little theater. It is close to Disney, shopping and dining.

There are dozens and dozens of hotels that meet your price range. You can get a suite at Days Suites, Homewood Suites, Comfort Suites, maybe Quality Suites, but I don't think any of those are as nice as the rental condos.
