DD10 will transform into DD11 later this month. I bought her very few nonclothes items. On past holidays, I was able to wrap the toys, cds, etc separately, and just folded all the clothes and put them in gift bags. Since she is getting older, most of her presents are clothes. I really hate to just throw them in a big gift bag together, so they will just dump out and look like a pile from Goodwill (no offense to Goodwill). I was going to separate the stuff into outfits and wrap them separately in boxes (so I would have about 15 boxes), but that seems like a lot of work and very little reward. Are there any creative ways (easy & inexpensive) I can wrap this stuff to make it more fun for her to open? Thanks!
BTW-my other issue is in addition to these gifts, I bought her a TON of stuff for our WDW trip in Sept (clothes, light spinner, etc), which I will give her wrapped in a suitcase in Sept. I would like to keep this stuff a surprise till then, but is there something I can give her now that is very trip related?

How about balloons? Sounds strange I know but they are fun to open at that age and rather cheap to have done if you have already purchased what goes in them. Also you can have this done at Walmart.
Another idea is a box with a message in it sending her to first present in pocket of that present send her to next and so on, sort of like a scavenger hunt for her presents!

My sister-in-law used the Sunday comics to wrap some of my daughter's B-day gifts. My daughter is only 3 but it is a cute idea.

Hope this helps,

My cousin Rebekah turned 12 this year, and we gave her mostly clothes for her birthday as well....one thing she loved is that we got her a backpack and filled all of the pockets and sections in it... we even got a pair of flip flops inside!!! got fun pens and lip glosses (they make those candy ones now) to put in the front pocket. She loved unzipping everything!!! it was really fun!!! could you give your DD a tshirt or something disney as one of her outfits??? what else did you get to put in her suitcase?? sounds like fun!!::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

What about a journal? That way she could start it pre-trip. I love my old journal from that age.
To wrap... I always use good old fashioned wrapping paper. I buy it when ever it goes on clearence. Nothing beats a pile of pretty presents. It really is pretty fast to wrap boxes. Ballons also sound fun.

I like to make packages specail by topping them with neat stuff rather than a bow. Tiny stuffed animal found on sale, colorful candy, socks that match the outfit inside, or a hair bow if she likes them. Try wraping them in neat stuff too. A swim suit wraped in a beach towel for example. I scrap and often use white paper and left over sticker to create fun paper. What about wraping WDW stuff in a map of florida or a Mickey beach towel?

I definetly will get matching socks and already got some of the other stuff. DD wanted the towel/backpack from the DS, so she is getting that, a pair of black converse, a Lilo & Stitch cd, and mostly clothes. I will try to be creative to find things to add to the outfits & will probably pick up a journal. Maybe I can add WDW stickers to it & print on the front "My WDW Trip 2004". Oh, I just had an idea- maybe I'll pick up some matching earnings, etc.
Billwendy- She's also got an Eeyore fan, stitch light spinner, a fanny pack, and Disney mints in the suitcase, along with a ton of clothes. I just won a load of pins on ebay, so I'll put those in as well. I'm going to try to get an inexpensive lanyard, but I may pass due to the $$$ I've already spent. I'm thinking of buying her a Brita water bottle as well. More ideas on what to add to her suitcase or birthday presents are much appreciated!

fun things to add....maybe glow bracelets? tootsie pops? small note book and pen (for tick tac toe and hangman)? travel games? sponge ball or beach ball for the pool? autograph book? big pen?

hey, i just noticed that we will be there about the same time!!! i cant wait either. We are going for the Night of Joy which should be awesome!!::MinnieMo ::MickeyMo

~ a "little surprise" (candy, gold dollars, "magic towels") ~ one in each sock, a sock in each sneaker
~ do try to wrap the matching clothes together (as "outfits"), and add an accessory (earrings, etc) or 2
~ use the pins as decoration, either after wrapping in plain craft paper (you can also use paper tablecloths ~ the plastic ones also work, but are harder to tape ~ from a dollar store), or on a gift bag
