My sister & her 3 kids are coming to visit over their Spring break. She is purchasing Busch Gardens tickets for her family, & my family has AP's. I'm looking for other things for us to do. I have some vouchers & movie tickets I purchased for our Christmas trip to WDW, but we had to cancel due to my health. I also have tickets to Ripley's. I was thinking we'd go over to Orlando for a couple nights to use up the stuff I have. She's on a strict budget and can't spend alot. Normally I pay for most things we do when they come to visit, but I have another sister with a brain tumor & I'm flying to North Carolina every 2 to 3 weeks. I would love any suggestions of inexpensive activities we could do, while we're there a couple nights. There would be my sister, 2 (13yo.) boys, 1(15yo.) boy, 1 (17yo.) girl & myself. Thanks in advance for any suggestions. :)

Downtown Disney!! There are some terrific toy stores such as Once Upon a Toy and Lego Land of Imagination - and you are encouraged to play with all of the toys -free. There is a McDonald's (= inexpensive meal), a few small rides (minimal $), a water play area (free), and you could even take a boat ride to POR and back (free). You will see the old Disney Tree Houses and the ground of the resort. Also, there is a magic shop where they perform tricks (free), Virgin Records where you can play upstairs, ride the elevator (looks out onto DD) and listen to music etc. (again, free!) You can also get a sweet treat at the candy shop or ice cream at Ghiradelli Soda Fountain. Need I go on?? We can spend about 1/2 ro 3/4's of a day here - LOL! HTH : )

I didn't register the ages of the kids before I posted so obviously, they may not be interested in the Toy Stores or the "rides" or water play area. Sorry! Still though, there is a lot to do. Disney Quest tickets can be pre-purchased online for a little over $20 and you could all easily spend a day here! It's cheaper than a Disney park ticket! There is also a movie theater here as well.

Resort Hopping!! We love to spend a day checking out the other resorts at WDW and sometimes even the Universal resorts.

How about a visit to DIsney's Wilderness Preserve with a swamp buggy tour? The cost is $12/adult and $6/child (ages 6-17...no, that's not a misprint....ages 6-17). Children under 6 are free.

It's located in the Kissimmee/St. Cloud area not in the parks. If the kids are interested in wildlife, this might be an option worth considering.
