Indy Meet - A Weekend of Fun! Follow Along With Us

I'm sure they'd appreciate it if you bought plane tickets and flew on up. But then I'd be really sad I wasn't there. So close yet so far away.

I seriously considered it until we found out Pete would be away.

Also...after retina reattachment surgery, you will often times have a gas bubble in your eye. When you have to lay face down for the awful 7 - 10 days, the bubble rises to the top and holds the retina in place, allowing it to heal.

You are not allowed to fly for 8 - 10 weels as a change in pressure could make my eyeball explode. This is against Doctor's orders.:thumbsup2

I cant have nitrous oxide for similar reasons.

Gruesome...huh?

?

southwest airlines thanks you.

(on a more serious note- I hope things are getting better!)

Hi Everyone,

We are back from our group dinner at Dave & Busters. We had a great time seeing everyone. When we arrived at 6:45 others had already showed up, and guess what....They were at the bar area. :)

After we all assembled we checked in at the podium. Our wait was around 10 or 15 minutes.
Here's a photo of the group assembled at the podium.

And another shot.

After our pager went off for our party of 16 we discovered we had a room of our own. A very pleasant surprise.
Here's a shot of the group in our own private room. :yay:

After dinner many of us went out and hit the arcade. The arcade at Dave & Busters is pretty big. Many of the DISers were passing around arcade tickets to others. A very generous group. :)

So, tomorrow is the main event. The meet begins at 1:00PM, but a good number of us are getting together early to begin setting up the room. I have it on record that Chris (crazydisneyman) is bringing donuts and we are holding him to it. :)

More to come!

Thanks for the update Aaron! It looks like you guys had a great dinner. I can't wait for the next update.:goodvibes

Have a great day tomorrow!

That is quite the gruesome possibility. Smart choice in staying home. I'm glad you are recoverying. I've been thinking of you.

Dave & Buster's was a great time! Our private room was great!! One of the wait staff asked if we would like to bring the screen down and put on a sports game...I believe Matt piped up, "No, but do you have The Little Mermaid?" :rotfl:

I was bad and didn't take many pictures tonight...I will be arming Matthew with his DSLR for tomorrow's festivities though...

We had tons of fun tonight! Whew...Dave and Busters can get $$$...but it was lots of fun anyway!

I drove Tonya back to her hotel for the night, which is just down the road from my house, and we sat out in the parking lot and talked for another hour. It's late and tomorrow's going to be a long, but good, day!

Goodnight!

It looks like you guys are having a great time! We miss you all. Keep the pics coming and someone please keep Chris (crazydisneyman) under control! :lmao::lmao:

Sounds like a great evening. Can't wait to hear about what today will bring.

Saturday, September. 5th

Hi Everyone,

Phew! What fun! Thanks to everyone for coming out today. We had a great time! A total of 65 plus were in attendance today. All the food and activites were great. Thanks to everyone for participating in all the activities; especially the silent auction. We raised $1500 for Give Kids the World throughout the course of the meet. GREAT JOB EVERYONE! And, special thanks to everyone who donated an auction itme or prize to the meet. Your generosity is much appreciated and helped make the Indy a meet a success for all the right reasons.

A meet like this doesn't happen without the help of many people. Thanks to everyone who played a role in making the meet a success. Just seeing the food on the table was an accomplisment. The food was awesome, and some dishes were over the top. A special thanks goes to Jason, Susan, Brandie and Matthew for doing such a wonderful job wit our Tiki Corner which included authentic Dole Whips and great cupcakes!

In the opposite corner of the hall we had kids activities. The kids activities included Art of Disney Animation drawing class, coloring, limbo contest on the front stage, Nemo Hot Potato game, and a Kidcot Fun Spot where the children could decorate their own Kidcot mask.

So, another Indy Meet has come and gone. It was great seeing everyone again. This time we did something truly amazing. We raised money for a very worthy cause. It just goes to show you, having fun and doing something life changing at the same time is possible.

Until next year...."See You Real Soon"!!! :wave2:
