What does it cost to park your car at Indy airport and what is the cost ofa taxi from castleton to the airport.

The last time I parked at Indy it was $5.50 for the economy lots and $7 for the Tiger (closer) lots. This has been about 18 months ago because now we have discovered Park & Fly ( I don't think the rates have changed). We stay at the Radisson and can leave the car for free up to a week, and it is soooo convenient. We always take early flights and are an hour and a half from the airport. So nice to walk out the back door of the hotel and be in the airport!

Now I am assuming you have to saty at least one night at the hotel and they have a way of checking cars with customers.

Yes. We stay the night before the flight. They ask you when you will be back and give you a tag to hang on your rearview mirror with the date. You have to tell them where they can reach you. After we get checked in we move the car to the corner of the parking lot nearest the airport doors so that when we come back after our trip all we have to do is go out of the airport, cross the very narrow street and we are at our car. Very convenient and worth the extra $$ to us.

Try www.indyparkrideandfly.com it is an off site place with awesome service (actually closer than some of the long term airport lots) You can self park for $35/week and valet for $40/wk with the web coupons.

Personally I would spend the extra $5 for the valet...you pull in they unload your luggage and put it on the shuttle while you run inside, give them your keys and return date and flight numbers. Then the shuttle runs you right to your dropoff at the terminal, and they unload your luggage for you. On return (this is the best part!!) you call from the courtesy phone they pick you up right at your luggage claim place and when they drop you off they have your car sitting there waiting on you, ice scraped off, heated up (or during the summer, cooled off), you run in and pay while they load up your luggage and your are off....5 minutes from luggage claim to highway home.

Complimentary water bottles and newspapers on the shuttle too.

Beware....the Indy airport has the absolute WORST parking set up I have ever seen. The long term lots are spread all over creation and range in price from $5.50 to $8/day. The shuttle service to the cheaper lots is horrible and often all of them are full. So if planning on using an airport lot be sure to have a back up plan.

If you have a long drive you can always do as cdrn1 suggested and get a room at an airport hotel that has free parking and decent shuttle service. Castleton is pretty far for a cab ride, but not so far that you would want to drive in the night before. I am sure it would be cheaper to park for a week than do a cab both ways.

I am like 20 minutes from airport so no need to overnight. Mu husband works for Lilly and want to park there and taxi to the airport. H e thinks it will be cheaper. I will call and find out. He likes to be difficult.
