I stayed at CBR years ago with my (now) ex-husband. It was a horrible trip with horrible weather! :) I am considering giving it another try with my (now) boyfriend and his 8 year old son. I think his son would love the Pirate rooms. My question is where to have a relaxing drink after a day in the parks? Ive been to WDW 14 times so I realize I can have some delivered, buy some at the store, or go to the pool bar. However, on my last trip the weather the horrific and the pool bar was closed for almost the entire week. We would take a cab to POR (my favorite moderate) to relax in the River Roost Lounge... which we enjoyed but was kind of a pain in the torrential rain.

Has anything changed at CBR since my last trip to add an inside bar/lounge? Does Shutters have a bar you can sit at?

Still no inside bar. The Banana Cabana out by the pool is it. When weather is bad we usually have a couple drinks while sitting at a table at Shutters, but there is no bar.

Oh you can do that? Without ordering food? That's good to know!! Thanks!!

Thank you so much! I'm warming up to the idea of giving this resort another chance!!! Am I right that the Pirate rooms are probably the furthest from anything?

They are the furthest from OPR and the Main Feature pool. But every Village has its own bus stop and leisure pool. From the absolute furthest room it's about a 9 minute walk and about 7 from the closest. CBR is our favorite Moderate.

Is there an internal bus to take you to/from your super far away room if you get stuck way out there?

If you book at Pirate room - you WILL be stuck way out there - just so you are prepared for that.

I remember how spread out that resort is. So we'll see! haha But I've stayed far out at POR and when I stayed at the Contemporary we were in a wing so it was like 15 mins to walk all the way into the main bldg and up the escalator for food or monorail or store. I can handle it I think! Especially since at CBR there's an internal bus to save you all that walking! haha

In case it matters, Pirate rooms are still double beds too. And they are platform beds and it's been said quite uncomfortable.

The beds were comfortable to me. I stayed there about a month ago. It is a bit of a walk to the pool or you can catch the bus
