Hi all,

I've never asked or looked in to the indirect Eurostar as we find it cheaper to drive (and use tesco clubcard vouchers to pay for the eurotunnel!), but there's a possibility that my brother and his girlfriend may join us for a few days in in our October trip. They probably wouldn't want to drive, and they wouldn't have any issues with the indirect Eurostar, but I have no idea how much those tickets cost?

Can anyone give me a rough idea of ticket prices for the indirect Eurostar? Ideally, if anyone's been in October and can let me know how much they paid? (Does it even matter what time of year?!) I know you can't order them until within 12 weeks of departure....

Thanks

You can have a look on the eurostar website, how old is your brother and girlfriend? if they are under 25 they can get youth tickets. Direct is £238 total at the moment but only 2 cheapest seats left direct coming back.

I will try to help a bit.
I'm waiting to book indirect for our outbound journey.
We are going oct half term and the direct prices where mad ?
I have booked the direct coming home thought.
Anyway what I've been told by Eurostar and some nice people on TA is the indirect £34.50 pp you go via Lille and have to wait till 12 weeks before so the tgv and Eurostar can be booked at the same time.
I've been told the Eurostar will be out 4 weeks before that and that I could book just to Lille but then I would have to book the tgv on its own costing more money.so I've just got to hold my nerve.
There are lots of train to Lille so hoping we can get a early one to get more park hours.
The change seems very easy and if you have a long gap between trains there is a huge supermarket just up stairs from the stations.
Your brother could grab you some supplies.

Brilliant, just what I was after. £34.50 pp is fantastic price. Depending on when they join us (IF they do!!) they could always get a lift in one of the directions with our parents, so they may have to only consider paying for one journey.....

Thanks!

Book early enough and you can get £34.50 each way direct. The dates your travelling it was available on the return leg but only 2 seats left at that price.

They won't know if they're coming until closer to the time, or which dates, but thanks.

As others have said - I've never had too much issue booking the indirect Eurostar for £69 return provided I book when tickets are first released (so 4 months or 12 weeks out). It does go up quite a bit closer to dates though - but the most I've ever paid is about £150 return for travel the next week.

I don't think I've ever managed to find a one-way for £34.50 but that might just be when I was looking...

Great, thank you. Interesting to know the price goes up closer to the date (as a lot of things do!) - I shall pass on the info!

If booking one way it will be £40 that's what I've paid for November 3rd, but even two £40 is cheaper than the £96.50 Eurostar asked my for the 27th of October one way direct.
