Indiana Jones and Matterhorn rides- chicken rider- I love Disney But I do not like roller coasters. I love splash Mt. In Sept/Oct we are going west to DL. How are these rides?

roller COaster? Indiana Jones ISNT a roller coaster :P

they are just bumpy. VERY bumpy. Just go with someone else and make sure they have earplugs so you can SCREAM your heart out :P

Nothing to be scared of! Suck in your gut and you can do it!

I'm with Albort. Though I do refer to it as a coasters when I say "I did all the coasters", when I'm using "shorthand". :)

But it's more like riding in a Jeep over rutted roads and up and down inclines, with someone else driving.

Matterhorn...eh, I think it's fun, but it's not *scary* to me.

Space Mountain is the most roller-coastery of them, IMO, but still I laughed my head off while riding it, it was just so fun! :upsidedow

None of the coasters there are like something I used to ride when living in CA, at Great America, where there are loops and wild things like that. They are all fairly tame. Ooh, wait, better say I've never been to DCA, so I can't speak for those.

Both of the rides are great fun. But keep in mind Sept/Oct is usually the time of year the Matterhorn is closed for refurbishment. :sad2:

The Matterhorn is my alltime favorite ride! It's fast, but not too fast. My kids hated SM, but adored Matterhorn.

The problem I have with Matterhorn is that I get off with a sore neck. I just haven't quite figured out how to hold my head on that ride. Dh and I both feel like we get minor whiplash. Indiana Jones whips you around pretty good too, but the back of the seat goes up higher so you don't get jerked around as badly. It's a really neat ride--don't skip that one! :thumbsup2

The only true 'roller coaster' ride is California Screamin' in DCA - meaning it has the classic high hill at the beginning and then takes a big plunge that makes you lose your stomach and scream really loud. Matterhorn and Space Mountain are similar in that they wind and weave a lot, but don't have any really big plunges. Space Mountain is in the dark and the Matterhorn is inside and outside a mountain. Both are twisty and could cause whiplash, but I think chances are remote. You can see the Matterhorn tracks from lots of spots in the park so check it out before you get in line to see if it is too much for you. You can't see the Space Mountain tracks at all - even when you are riding it - which makes it that much more fun !!
