Indianapolis DIS Meet - 2nd Annual - All Welcome

I will drive. Fort Wayne is an easy drive. Indy isn't that much farther. I meant to bring something to contribute.
Oops. My mistake! :lmao:
You can bring whatever you'd like. Some folks got creative last year with Disney restaurant recipes and dishes. Whatevery you decide to bring let me know and I will list it next to your name on the first post.

Just a quick question....is the Super 8 next to the fairgrounds a decent place to stay?

Super 8 Noblesville Indianapolis
17070 Dragonfly Lane
I-69 Exit 10
Noblesville, IN 46060 US

Also would enough people from out of town want to stay there to maybe get a group rate? :confused3 Just thought I would throw it out there :surfweb: Not really sure how it works myself.....but I think we would need to have 9 rooms to qualify for group rates.

I had no idea there were so many DISers in and around the Hoosier state! My family would be interested in attending. :goodvibes It sounds like great fun!

I'm planning on getting a room. Have to see if DP is coming with me. If he is we are limited to mostly LaQuinta, as they are doggie friendly. If not, then close and cheap works best for me.:goodvibes:goodvibes

The Super 8 looks nice, I've never been in there though. There is also a Quality Inn and a Fairfield very close (within a mile) - those are both nice as well. I've been in those for scrapbooking and birthday parties. ;) HTH!

I am planning on attending.:thumbsup2
Have to figure what can travel from Detroit....if you have any ideas or suggestions let me know.:goodvibes
:dance3::dance3::dance3:

Todd! That's great news! I mean, I'm really sorry that I'll miss the opportunity to see you, but it's very exciting that so many DIS friends will be getting together!

I've been promised a phonecall at the minimum. Perhaps I'll even be a flattie. Regardless, Phillip says we'll make sure to have a Grand Marnier slushy in everyone's honor during our trip!
What a way to take one for the team there Dodie...:rotfl:

Trés bien!

Not sure about the hotel...never stayed there before. There's also a Fairfield Inn nearby I believe...

Yay! Welcome to the fun!!

I think we are staying downtown at the hotel with the train rooms. The kids will love it.

Thanks for the info. Looks like a place DP would stay. By then I might want another vacation from the family though...

I just talked to DH...we are definately in! I am so excited, I hope to make lots of Disney friends. :thumbsup2

I was looking at the kids activities, I would be willing to volunteer for just a bit with face painting. In HS I was a clown and would face paint at festivals and such. :clown:

Now off to my recipe archives to find some yummy Disney inspired dishes!

Hi all, looking forward to seeing everyone in September :goodvibes
Got a question, though. We are going to be making an extended weekend out of this trip and I'd like to know what are the 'must-do's' for a newbie? Shanan has been to Indy before, but this will be my first time. The zoo looks cool, but what else must I visit?
Thanks for any help! :flower3:

Aaron, have you heard from world bouncer? saw where he hasn't posted in awhile. was wondering if all was ok with them. heather

Hi, I'm new to the DIS board and stumbled onto this thread. I'm so glad since I live in Carmel, IN and would love to attend the Indianapolis meet in Sept. with my DD and DS. Is there anything else I need to do? I'm not sure what food I would like to bring yet but am definitely excited.

That's awesome! I am helping Aaron with the Meet and I know that we are very happy that you are coming. Stay tuned for more information and messages on the thread. And Welcome to the disboards!

Please let me know how many of you are attending. I hope you can make it. Make sure to check out the link to last years meet in the first thread. It will give you an idea of what went on last year. It was a great meet and I'm hopeful this years will be just as good.

ETA: I see the info in your signature. I'll mark you down. Looking forward to seeing you.

I would say if you are going to downtown Indianapolis make sure to check out the NCAA Hall of Champions (NCAA Hall of Fame), the Indiana State Museum, The Eiteljorg (sp) Museum, and the riverwalk. You may also want to check out the Children's Museum.

Hi Heather,
No I have not heard from him. I sent him and his daughter Minnie_Squeaks, but have not heard back from them. I hopt to hear from them soon. I had his cell number, but I've somehow lost it.

There's really nothing else you need to do except let us know what you will bring for food. You can bring anything you'd like. It can be a dessert or anything else. I'll mark you on the list as attending. Also, be sure to check out the link to last years meet to get an idea of what takes place. The link is on the first post of this thread. :)

A couple things I needed to mention. I was at the meet site last Friday. I spoke to the folks who run the facility.

Darrel - I asked them about parking your camper in the parking lot. They said no; however there is a Super Wal-Mart right next to 4-H fairgrounds with a very large parking lot. You could probably park there for a night or two.

Sooze - I asked about the Sidewalk chalk. Because they just repaved the sidewalks around the facility they said no to the chalk.

Also, please make sure when you let us know when you are coming to post how many will be coming with you. Also include your children's ages. If you know what you are going to bring for your food item let us know as well. :)
