We're due in Anaheim in a few weeks and I was wondering if anyone can tell me please about the Indiana Jones ride. It sounds great but my stomach might not think so! I didn't like Star Wars (felt icky afterwards) but I was fine with Dinosaur at WDW which I believe is a very similar ride. Could anyone help me with the potential nausea factor please?

On Indy there is a lot of jerking around as well as sudden stops and surprises. Bottom line - there is A LOT of stimulus, especially in the main room including the bridge, large head statue of Mara, pyrotechnics, snakes, etc. It is a VERY entertaining "adventure", but if you have a weak stomach it may be best to skip it and go on the jungle cruise instead! OR, wait for someone in your party who knows you better to go on it and report back. You can always get a fast pass to slip on later or go on it during a showing of fantasmic if you decide you want to take the plunge.

If you did okay with Dinosaur at WDW you should have no problem with Indian Jones. It basically the same concept as far as design, cars, track etc.

I know what you mean about "feeling icky' on Star Tours. It has done that to me before. But I have never had any problem with Indie. It should have the same queasy factor as Dinosaur. Definitely make sure you ride this early in your visit, because you may find you'll want to ride it again and again. Although it is almost identical to Dinosaur in its track and movement, it is so much more fun and exciting than Dinosaur IMO.

On Indy, I would say if you have back problems, stay away, but not tummy issues....as previously mentioned, it's lots of starts and stops (jarring) rather than nausea-type rolling.

If you do go...pull on everything in the cuing line (ie, the wishing well, the poles, etc) and see what happens....also bring a flashlight for the movie room to look for Eeyore...and look for Mickey in the skeleton room!

I tend to have a weak stomach for some rides, so I take a motion sickness pill (Bomine) each morning of our vacation. I don't need it for the airplane, just for the rides!

There is a lot of bouncing and jerking around, but it really is tame. If my mom can handle it (and love it), pretty much anyone can enjoy it! Have fun! :flower:

Indy is the same ride system as Dinosaur but not the same "ride" per say. I found "Dino" to be MORE jarring then Indy but Indy has more fast stops and quick turns.

If you can do Dino then you should be fine on Indy.

Thanks so much everyone - I really appreciate your help. I think I'll give it a go - it sounds so good and it'd be a shame to miss it.

It's one of my favorite rides at any Disney park. I agree that if you can ride the Dino ride, you'll be fine. Star Tours is much rougher on the tummy which I think is due to the visual show. Have fun!
