Just curious about something. I've been to both parks and have ridden both of these rides which are essentially the same style of ride. (I've even read that they are the same layout just obviously different scenes--don't know how true that is.) The interesting thing is that the height requirement for IJ is 46" whereas Dinosaur is only 40". Has it always been 46"? I don't remember one ride being any wilder than the other so not sure why such a huge difference in height requirement. I thought I remember some pretty young kids riding when I was there in Dec 04 on a business trip. We're taking the family to DL this August and were looking forward to everyone being able to ride IJ, but that won't happen --oh well, at least we can all ride Space Mountain (40" vs 44" at WDW) together!

Yes, Indy has always had that height requirement. I wondered the same thing, then I remembered that in CA we have DOSH (Department of Occupational Safety and Health) and they might have been the ones to set the height requirement (I don't know this--it's just a guess). Whenever there's an accident in an amusement park here in CA, it's DOSH that the parks have to satisfy that the ride is safe. In FL there's no regulation on the big parks.

The height requirement for Dinosaur used to be higher. Disneyworld made the ride a lot tamer after lots of guest complaints making it an easier ride for younger children. Indiana Jones on the other hand is just a wide and bumpy ride the entire time!
