Does this ride go forwards or backwards? I only ask as my mate rode it lasy year forwards yet the info on disney said it goes backwards?? Do you have to chose a set time to ride either then or is it pot luck?

No it only goes forwards.....there was a time it went backwards but not anymore

My DS9 described it as boring and not worth queueing for if you need to wait

When I rode it a few years ago it went both ways!

Everyone sits facing the same way, and the mine carts that you sit on go round once forwards and then back the way they came without turning round. So half and half back then!

(Disclaimer: this was nearly 10 years ago; they may have changed it since!)

EDIT: I'm clearly out of date now according to aboce post; can't believe it only goes forwards now :( backwards was half the fun!!

i think they tried it backwards for a bit a few years ago but now it only goes forward!! great ride although i did hit my head hard the first time i went on it & ended up with a big lump but loved it all the times after that!!!

When did they change it? When I went, it went backwards, an idea that I liked. It's too boring if it goes forward... I don't really like that ride, I always hit my heard and end up getting a headache.

i was there just over a year ago & that's when it was going forward & a few people told me about it going backwards for a while!! i think it would be cool going backwards, it's a shame they don't do it now

Apparently it was changed to go forward once again between the end of November and beginning of December 2004.

I only found that out the other week from the site below.

I have to admit after riding it backwards in 2002 i do prefer it forwards. This time i like being able to see where i was going and didn't feel sick at all.

When this ride went backwards it made me feel so ill I couldn't ride Phantom Manor afterwards!

You're all very brave ~ you wouldn't get me on this ride for love nor money!! :rotfl2:

I didnt go on it last september but i did in 1999 and i remember it was quite scary (for me) as you can see down and i am scared of heights but it was so quick to get on and off it was almost the same :lmao:

Mind you i am strange as i am ok on Space Mountain and RnR Coaster but scared to death on Dumbo and Flying Carpets LOL:rotfl2:

This ride is ok but it would be better if it went backwards too...a word of warning though, if it starts to rain while you are going round the loop don't try putting your hood up...you'll get snappage of the neck region!!:scared1: :rotfl:
