DH and I, plus my 8yo son and 5yo daughter are going in March. 5yo is not tall enough to ride Indy yet (she's only 43".) It's one of the rides my son is looking forward to the most.

Can we do the baby swap thing (i forget what it's called) with any age child who isn't tall enough to ride? I know DH will want to ride with 8yo, and I do too. Can one of us wait to the side with DD while the other rides with son, and then switch places?

You can do it on any ride that you have a child who is too short or too scared or just not interested in a ride.

I have never used it for Indy so don't know how quickly the next set gets to go, but on Screamin' the second set of people go thru the fast pass side.

Hopefully someone with Indy specific info can chime in.

You get a rides swap pass from the CM at the entrance. That'll get 2 back through the FP line. So DS can ride twice.

I *highly* recommend that the waiting parent find something to do with the 5 year old. Because that line, even if the first parent and the 8 year old start of with Fast Passes, can get long. And it can get really really really really really really boring waiting there, wondering when the first riders will come out. So make sure people have cellphones (and you might want to check if they work in the park...my phone isn't all that great, even though I have a 3G AT&T phone...hubby's phone works just fine, and he has the exact same 3G AT&T service, though a different phone), and have the second riding adult go off...ride Jungle Cruise, explore Tarzan's Treehouse, just do SOMETHING other than wait at the exit.

Just my opinion! From experience. Yawnnnnn.

Definitely do as Molly suggests!! And definitely be aware that the Indy line can be HUGE. Once you get inside you've still got quite the wait, the FP lines definitely helps but it really depends on how the CM's taking FP work it. We didn't ride it last time, it was at least another 40-50 min. after we got inside.

THIS is a GREAT idea!

Really???? Lines are this long???

i've never waited longer than 25 minutes with a FP for Indy. that's just my experience, though. maybe others have had to wait longer (we've done it numerous times, over the course of several years, with our 2 younger kids who until our last trip, were too short to ride).

we always use the time to have a snack. we wait at the exit, as there are some places in the faux rock over there to sit in the shade, which is nice when it's hot out. we typically have some juice bags and pb&j sandwiches with us just for this purpose. while one parent rides Indy with the older kids, the other parent sits near the exit and gives the little ones a snack. when we switch parents so the second parent can ride, the remaining parent usually just waits there as it's always only taken us about 15 minutes to get through the line and off the ride when the second parent goes.

my kids are really easy at disneyland though, even when they were toddlers, so it might be tougher with a little one who needs to keep moving. my kids are usually ready for a bit of a break, considering we do SO much walking in the parks.

also, i like listening to the music while we wait by the exit, lol. and we watch the jungle cruise boats go by (the CM's on the boats usually make jokes about those of us watching to the riders on the cruise!)

Same, with FastPass I never had to wait longer than 20 minutes or so. But even 20 is a long time to just stand idly by. It just takes a while because everyone has to watch the safety video in addition to making their way up to the front of the line, so it slows things down a bit.

OK, thank you. It's just my hubby and I, so we can handle those kinds of lines. We only have 2.5 days for our vacation there so I was just concerned that very long lines would interfere with whether or not we got to experience all of the rides that were interested in riding. Thanks!
