Hi Disneylanders,

We're headed to DLR next month and have a question about the intensity of Incredicoaster vs. WDW coasters. We love Big Thunder Mountain, Space Mountain, and Cosmic Rewind (our absolute favorite), but have been too scared to try Rock'n'Roller Coaster. We *love* speed but don't do well with big drops. We've heard that Incredicoaster has high drops but that these are banked so they don't feel as intense. Has that been your experience? How intense is Incredicoaster vs. the WDW coasters and do you think we would be ok to ride?

I think Incredicoaster is less intense than Rock N Roller Coaster but understand you have not been on that either. Really, none of the Disney rides are that crazy like Universal or other parks. It does have a few drops but imo nothing intense. Of course, such a subjective analysis! (And btw I'm in the 50+ age bracket mom!)

Incredicoaster is outside, so you could take a look at the track before deciding! I'd consider it very similar to Rock n Rollercoaster, but it's been a while since I've been on either.

Incredicoaster does compare best to Rock'n Roller Coaster, though they are different. RNRC is all corkscrews, so just a spiral around, while Incredicoaster has more hills and one big loop. You may or may not find that more or less intense. Both of them are quite a bit more intense than either Space Mountain or Big Thunder though. I do find them a tad rough too and the over-the shoulder harnesses can bang yoru head around a little. Sometimes I get a headache after Incredicoaster, but it doesn't last too long. The launch is so fun that I usually just roll with it, though I am never thinking it was over too soon eihter.

I'm not sure why loops are considered so troublesome to so many. It just feels like you're being pushed into your seat, at least on this one. No big deal.

Incredicoaster doesn't have any stomach-dropping moments (like Splash's drop), despite look like it does. It's more like racing along over really long stretches of track, nowhere near as tight or curvy as RnR. Even the launch is much less intense than RnR's.

The closest match is to the Rock’in one. Being outdoors is more exciting. (I enjoy it more at night). Drops aren’t too bad. A lot of turns. Few up/down dips. The loop (as many can) gets that head/neck compression feel for me. Not smooth. You vibrate a bit. I do like that for a metal coaster, feels like a fast classic wood one. With the sound track, it is a fun thrill ride.

The loop isn't really that intense, but it is more intense than Big Thunder or Space, so it's worth mentioning. Even Incredicoaster and RNRC are nowhere near the intensity levels of some of the biggest "megacoasters" out in the world.

I think the curves at the end of IC are a lot more intense than the loop. The loop is so inconsequential thatI keep having to remind myself that IC even has a loop,

The loop messes with my head a little but I get motion sick on "circle rides" (eg. Dumbo, Swings, etc) so that could be why. It is not enough for me to avoid it completely but it is usually a one and done.

In terms of intensity, I rode both coasters last year and Incredicoaster is definitely the more intense of the Disney coasters. The drops are higher than what you get with TRON or Space Mountain in WDW, so there is a world of difference here. There are higher nauseousness chances while on Incredicoaster.

It’s pretty subjective. Some think Incredicoastet is more intense, others believe RNRC is. It does seem like a few more believe RNRC is, and I’ll one of them - it gives me a brief headache every time I ride it. However, that could because I’ve been on Incredicoaster many more times (I’m local to DLR) and this have gotten use to it. Both are thrill coasters and as far as thrill coasters go, they’re both pretty tame.

Either way, I think Incredicoaster is the much better ride. Very smooth. Maybe RNRC will be better when the Muppets take over.

OMG...it was my very favorite coaster ever when I was still able to ride it. It rides like an old -fashioned wooden coaster but much smoother because of metal track. Even the inversion is smooth and it is over very quick (the upside down part). NOTHING LIKE RNRC which is very jerky to me. Plus I hate corkscrews. You get some air on incredicoaster but to me, its just a great ole coaster. If it didnt go upside down, I would still be ridin'!

The closest comparable is RNRC as others have said. To me the biggest difference is RNRC is very rough on your body and Incredicoaster is not. Incredicaoster is nothing like Space, Big Thunder, 7 Dwarves.

My 2 cents is that while Incredicoaster looks intimidating (particularly the tunnel drops) it actually isn't as bad as it looks. You do get a tiny bit of "air time" when you crest the first hill after the launch, but its not a Splash Mountain style drop. The 2nd big drop, if you closed your eyes you'd barely realize you were dropping, particularly in the rear cars. RNRC has 3 inversions, each of which are more intense than the standard loop that IC has. But you can't see the RNRC so its maybe less scary.

IC is a little more intense than Epcot GOTG but I think that might be the closest Disney USA compare in terms of intensity (RNRC is closest compare in terms of ride system as its the same type of vehicle, but I think RNRC is meaningfully more intense than IC). The actual closest compare is Space Mountain in Paris as that is same ride system and has similar loop!

It has a launch and a loop like RNRC but RNRC does not have any real drops, where as Incredicoaster does have at least one where you really get that feeling in your tummy. Personally I love that feeling but if you're not into it then I wouldn't go on it.
