Incredicoaster intensity comparison?

Taking my first-ever trip to DLR in September and I am so excited to ride this but as my profile title says I am a drop chicken XD So wondering how the intensity of the drops compares to other attractions, specifically Expedition Everest or Space Mountain or something like that (and I love those). Any insight would be appreciated!

And before you tell me to "just do it" and "it'll be over in 2 seconds" - I have a 19-year-long phobia of what was previously my favorite attraction, Splash Mountain, so thanks but no thanks for that advice. Fear is a powerful master, my friends.

If you like Rockin' Roller then I don't think you'll have a problem with the Incredicoaster. Now take this with a grain of salt because I LOVE "fast ride" experiences but there are no real drops. Previous poster beat me to it, but the only thing worrisome (since you like RRC) is the loop and with centripetal force that's a completely different feeling over a drop.

I hope you like it!

Edit: oh wait, there is a sort wave feeling towards the end but they are tiny

This is really helpful! Especially if the drops are banked at all and not straight down I think I will be totally fine. Inversions don’t bother me.

I'm terrified of coasters still and get slight motion sickness on the first drop or bank of any type and love Incredicoatser. I do recommend trying towards the front because the rear cars tend to rattle me a bit much. I love that it takes off , vs an initial climb and drop. It's really not bad at all or any worse than omega side Space Mountain at WDW.

Thanks - I like Rockin' Roller Coaster and don't find it to be "intense" from a drop perspective.

You'll be fine on Incredicoaster.

If you don't like the sensation of weightlessness, which is what you experience during drops, sit towards the middle or back of the train.

The hill immediately after launch delivers a nice pop of "air time" (weightlessness) in the front rows of the train.

The most intense part of the ride is the loop, the loop will pin you to your seat. Comparing that loop to other coasters outside of Disney it's a pretty intense loop.

The rest of the ride is pretty mild. Swooping graceful turns and bunny hills and drops that don't really deliver any airtime.

And if you plan on only riding this coaster once, ride at night. Night rides on this coaster are amazing with Pixar Pier in incredicoaster all lit up.

It is basically Rock N Roller coaster without being in the dark. Very similar. If you like Rock N Roller Coaster and don't mind the difference that you can actually see the track you should be fine.

I don't find it comparable in any way to RnR. The launch is not as intense, and RNR is more low slung with lots of boomerangs and sharp turns. Incredicoaster is more similar to a classic wooden coaster, but with a loop and much smoother because its steel. There are two "big hills" but they do bank towards the middle, so they are not the type where you are looking straight down at the ground.

Overall, intensity wise, its comparable to Everest. Its MUCH more "big" than Space Mountain (which is also mostly turns and 1 or 2 VERY small dips). I would recommend the front car for the least intense ride on IC.

I chaperoned my 6th graders school trip to Disneyland (pre Covid, of course) and they participated in a youth series class that focused on the physics and the forces of motion. The cast members did several fun activities with the kids that explained the science behind the rides and how the rides are safe and secure. Almost every child then rode IncrediCoaster. If an 11 year old can face their fear and ride the coaster, you can too! :D I'm not a super intense daredevil or anything, but I love IC. I can do the big drops and the loop no problem. The only part that gets me a little bit are the small little wavy hills. Maybe consider taking a motion sickness pill before you ride it. To be honest, I think the Mickey wheel of Death and Goofy's Sky School coaster are way scarier.

You can handle the large drop from Expedition Everest?

If so, I think you can handle Incredicoaster. The thing that gets me is that even though the drop on Incredicoaster isn't as intense as Expedition Everest (it's faster, longer, but not as steep on the Incredicoaster), there is like one or two more smaller drops after the large one and at that point, it gets to me.

I guess I rather have one big drop (Expedition Everest) and get it over with than 2-3 drops on Incredicoaster.

Wait, did I read that right? You can handle Expedition Everest but not Splash Mountain?

What the lol

Lol yes! I mean the first time I rode EE I was gripping my poor sister's arm screaming "PROMISE ME I'LL LIKE THIS" from the time we left the station, and then I made her ride it 2 more times in a row. The big "drop" at the end of EE doesn't set my stomach off because it's banked so it honestly feels like nothing, whereas Splash Mountain you feel every millisecond of that plunge x.x And that's what I can't stand, that feeling in your stomach/body from intense drops (even if they're only over in 2 seconds). But if the IC drops are like EE and they're banked I think I'll be fine. I like speed, I don't get motion sick!

the ride is very smooth, and reasonably fast. There are a couple drops as other mentioned.
The launch is the only thing in my mind that is similar to RNR, the rest is a very different type of ride.

The worst part for me is the ending, where the vehicle has a rather harsh stop right before the boarding station. That has gotten me a couple times in the past. The rest of the ride is very enjoyable!

If you are terrified of drops then I think the best solution to riding Incredicoaster without any fear would be to do a quick ride on Guardians of the Galaxy first. Once Guardians ride is over have your friends/family wheel your comatose body over to the Incredicoaster and place you on that ride. It will be like "Weekend at Bernies" for them and when you finally wake up you can go checkout your mid-ride coaster photo to see if they made you hold your arms up and yell whoo or not!

In terms of intensity for the rides mentioned in this thread, I would rank 1) Rockin Rollercoaster 2) Expedition Everest 3) Incredicoaster and 4) Space Mountain. Only issue you may have with incredicoaster is the loop is outdoors, you can see everything. My advice, look directly at the track. Seems to help. Also ride towards the front but not in the first row. Drops are less severe and you can't see them as well if there are people in front of you.
