Is it really the first of September already? Where is the time going???

Its another month of training for some, time to rest for others. But we are all in this craziness together, to encourage and commiserate with. And our door is always open for new friends, or those teammates who may have lost their way.

I may revise the team roster for this first post, I will work on it later today. I am "on vacation" this week, but am home with DD and her friend. Keeping them entertained is fun, plus I am doing all my last minute packing/trip stuff. Plus to add to the fun, my cell phone ended up in the pool yesterday. Thankfully it was in the case so it didn't sink, but it did get wet. Left it in the sun for a while, then in a bag of rice overnight. It seems to be working, guess we will see what happens.

2 more days til we leave for Cali and DL. The excitement level here is off the charts. DD and I got our "makeovers" last night, serious haircuts and colors. Well I got color and highlights, she just got a couple highlights. $100 later, we are stylin!!

Continue to be INCREDIBLE ladies, you are all awesome.:thumbsup2

So hard to believe that September is here! That means fall weather and my favorite part of fall weather.....college football :cool1:

In 24 hours we'll be off to DL and I have nothing packed.....well except for my tennis shoes and a couple of options for my running attire on Sunday. I love going on trips but I hate packing. I will have to get it done before I turn in tonight though....my hubby will want to leave for the airport around 3:30am. It is a 45 minute drive to the airport and then we'll have to park in long term parking and wait for the shuttle...which sometimes takes forever.

Hope to get to meet some of my Incredible teammates this weekend and lots of pixiedust: being sent out to all who are participating and/or training for any runs this month!

Everyone have an Incredibleday and  the ones ya love!

September! Crazy!

I leave for DL in less than 24 hours! (Well, I leave for the airport in less than 24 hours - that counts, right?) I'm not going to be able to do any of the DIS meetups, unfortunately, but maybe I'll run into some of you. I'm a short, curvy redhead (tons of curly red hair which will likely be braided or pulled up), so I'm not hard to spot. I'll be in some form of a running skirt all weekend, I think, and for the race, I'm wearing a bright orange DisneyRunning hat (my first Disney forum) with a pink shirt and blue running skirt.

I'm trying to calm my nerves, but that's easier said than done.

Exciting news! I'm a DVC member, and had a studio booked for the Princess half, just in case I decided to run it (I refuse to sign up until I have finished this race, just so I don't jinx myself) and after talking to my mom on the phone, I now have a points/cash reservation for a 2 bedroom and three people coming with me! My parents are joining me, which is always nice, since we live so far apart, as well as my younger sister, and my mom and sister definitely plan to run/walk the race! How exciting!

I have to agree! When the morning is cool and there's the slight smell of grilling in the air, it smells like football. I'm a little freaked that my team's season starts THIS WEEKEND, because it doesn't feel like football season yet.

Hello fellow Incredibles!

I've been a little absent but I will catch up on the posts when I get back from DL. I know I've missed a lot, I see all the chatter - and that's a good thing for our team! :goodvibes

I do want to give Veronica a shout out for being our faithful captain and facilitator. You are doing such a great job of keeping our team going. I hope I get to see you and other fellow Incredibles at DL this weekend. I'm looking forward to sharing in your victories and PR's. :cheer2: :cool1:

As for me, I haven't been able to train much lately - well, not on foot. I've had some issues with my stomach and pain for a couple of weeks and walking fast or running hasn't worked out. Biking, though, I could handle as long as I went at a slower pace. Go figure! I'm hoping the biking will help me get to the finish line at DL. The doctor finally gave me some good drugs and I'm starting to feel better now. If you have any spare pixie dust, I could sure use it. As long as I can cross the finish line in an upright manner and in < 3.5 hours, I'll be happy. :teeth:

By the way, I'll probably be at the DL expo on Friday afternoon around 2-3pm. I'm going to try to wear my WISH cap or shirt of some type. If you see a fellow WISHer, please say "hi". It could be me. :goodvibes

Good description, I'll look for you. I won't be able to do the Disney meet on Friday, not sure about Sat.

I was going to ask when everyone is going to the expo. We will probably be there Friday afternoon around 2-3 also. Have no idea what I will be wearing then, but for the race I will have on a white hat, white shirt, black shorts. I'm short, 4'11" and just cut off all my hair so you really won't see it much. My bib is #5039.

I 2nd the shout out for Veronica! and I too hope to get to meet some Incredible teammates this weekend.

I am planning on being at the expo Friday afternoon as well. Hadn't really thought about what time I was going but maybe I'll make sure to be there between 2-3 also. I have NO idea what I'll be wearing on Sunday or Friday! I'm hoping to be wearing something green on Sunday. My son will have on a bright...glowing yellow shirt with blue shorts (probably have Oak Ridge on the leg) and I'll be the short person next to him!

Susie....my training was not so good for this run either. I too am just praying for a finish....I have no choice...I've got to get that Coast to Coast medal....even if I have to crawl across the finish line!

Well we leave in less that 12 hours so I guess I better get to packing!

I forgot the most important part of my weekend outfit - my first visit button!

Heading out in a few minutes. Totally nervous. I'm not the world's best flyer, and after being sick for Princess, I'm paranoid that I'll get sick before the race. I know, I'm a little crazy.

Happy weekend all!

Well we are here! John Wayne international. Waiting on the DL Express. It is quite cool this morning. Overcast skies. Loading up and headed to the hotel!

Will check back in later! Have a great day everyone.

Patsy, we are staying at DL hotel too. Maybe we could meet up there somewhere tomorrow afternoon?

We will be driving down tonight after DH gets off work. We were going to drive in the morning, but we decided we couldn't stand the thought of getting there so late in the day. We will stay at DH's parents house tonight and head over early tomorrow morning to check in at the GCH. We will likely also go to pick up our race packets mid-afternoon. I'm about 5'9" with past shoulder length medium brown hair (likely to be in a pony tail or French braid) and a "junoesque" build. I'll be wearing a dark blue shirt and tan shorts tomorrow and black shorts and a plain, lime green shirt on race day. I'm working on making a lime green visor with "WISH" across the brim, but I'll have to see how it turns out before deciding if I'm wearing it.

Meeting up tomorrow afternoon would be great! I will send you my cell # in a message so if you want to give me a call and we can see what the afternoon plans hold or we can decide somewhere prior....at the expo or something maybe...

We have had an AWESOME day in the parks. We got into DL about 9:30 and we have been able to walk right on ALL the rides. Space Mountain..walked right on. Indiana Jones...walked right on. We accomplished riding all the "big" rides in DL and went over to CA and literally walked right on TOT and same with Screamin AND even Soarin'. The parks are not crowded at all...It has been great day. It'd be great if they'd stay this way but I know that's not going to happen. We have dinner reservations at 5:30 at Arial's Grotto so that means we have Priority Reserved standing at WOC....cannot wait for that!

DS & I have already bought our souvenir 1/2 Marathon shirt. They were putting them on the rack this morning and we picked ours out. They are long sleeve t-shirts and the design is really cool this year. 2 years ago I waited and missed out and decided I'd never do that again!

Okay...I know I'm just rattling on....I think the lack of sleep is starting to catch up with me. I was up at 2:30 am to get to the airport and catch our 6:00am flight. And Megan...I HATE flying but 1/2 of a xanax(sp??) this morning helped me through it. Only thing is it makes me even sleepier but I've been too excited to sleep!!

Again...Hoping to meet some of my Incredible teammates that will be here this weekend. I have brown hair that is past my shoulders and my husband who will be with me is salt/pepper hair...what's left of it and DS is tall(about 6ft) and will probably either have on a swim or a waterpolo tshirt and I'll probably be wearing a white running skirt and a black shirt. It warmed up quite nicely here this afternoon...no actually it got hot! So tomorrow I will be dressed a little cooler.

Safe travels to all of you that will be traveling tomorrow...

Popping in to say hi! Patsy, it was so fun to run into you yesterday. Sorry I wasn't chattier. Little overwhelmed, plus I had just gotten the news that my 88 year old grandfather was having a pacemaker put in. He's doing great now, but it was hard to not be there.

I heard that about half the 5k finishers didn't get medals due to a shipping delay :( Hope that doesn't happen tomorrow too!

Hope all of our INCREDIBLES running the DL half had a great race today! :goodvibes

Can't wait to hear all about it! :flower3:

I know I haven't been a good team member--I'll update on my leg and health status tomorrow. BUT, I hope those of you who ran at DL had an INCREDIBLE race! Can't wait to hear about it!

Happy Labor Day fellow Incredibles!

Good News....Jeremy & I finished!! Even better news....Jeremy did AWESOME!!! DL 1/2 was his 1st ever 1/2 Marathon, he was never able to do more than a 10k because of his knees and his actual sport of water polo (he was always in the water) but he kept up with the 2:30 hour pacer until mile 7 and we finished together in 2:38 (or as he would tell ya...2:37.49!) I am very proud of him for completing this goal. He says I'm on my own next year though! :rotfl:

It was an awesome weekend. Lot of park time and especially fun meeting a couple of fellow teammates. Megan & Veronica ~ it was great meeting the two of you. Megan....hope your run went good and hope your grandfather is doing well. Veronica.....I'll just say you did an Incredible job :cool1: and it was great getting to spend some time talking with you....felt like I've know ya forever! I wish I'd gotten to meet the other teammates that were there but everyone was super busy.

It is back to reality now. And I learned a lesson with this 1/2.....train hard! It makes a HUGE difference. I think I've decided that I want to go GOOFY in 2012! (With a lot of hard training of course)

Congratulations Patsy! It sounds like you and DS had a great run!

I was thinking about my INCREDIBLE teammates all weekend and I hope you all did great and had a fun time. Can't wait to hear all about your races!

I officially started my training for Goofy this weekend. I ran a 5K Saturday morning and 6 miles yesterday. Today is X-train and I walked/eliptical and did strength training. Tomorrow is my birthday and I usually run with a group to do speedwork but I think I am going to get up early and run the 5K course I have mapped out in my neighborhood and go out for dinner with DH instead.:lovestruc My birthday tradition is to go to the Melting Pot, yum!

I am seriously considering running the Princess. My mom has a stress fracture in her foot and wants to get into better shape when it is healed to strengthen her bones. I am going to set her up with the C25K program and walk/run the 5K with her and DD in the stroller (it is stroller friendly this year:banana:) and then run the half on Sunday. I think it would be a super fun girls weekend for us. I probably won't register until the end of October though.
Well I hope all of you are having an INCREDIBLE weekend. Happy Labor Day!

How wonderful! It sounds like it was awesome. So glad you had an exciting trip!

HELLOOOOO INCREDIBLES!!!

We are home from California :sad2: but it was an AWESOME time!! The half was fabulous, I set a new PR :
2:15:47

My friend who paced me was the best!! I left my FIL behind at mile 4 and never looked back. Running through Angels Stadium was super, it really picked me up as I was kinda dragging at that point. The medals are sweet, the C2C is heavy!!

Patsy, it was great to meet you and your family. And your son did a great job!! We enjoyed the parks and spending time with our friends, the time went way too quickly.

On a not so nice note, we were disappointed with the situation with the 5k. They ran out of medals and handed out a paper instead that said check our website or go to the expo to find out how to get your medal. For DH, no biggie. But for my 10 yo DD, she was so upset! She was crying. Then a man came by (another runner) and asked if she had gotten a medal. When she said no, he gave her his!:wizard: They did send out an email about how to get your medals (they will mail them to you). I imagine there were a lot of people rather upset about this and its sad that it had to happen.
