Hello everyone this was our 4th Disney cruise. We consist of myself, my husband and our 2 sons 13 & 9.
We tend to do vacations a little different than most. And here we go.....
We started our vacation from Jacksonville, FL on Friday June 5th. We flew into Seattle and rented a car. We spent all day Saturday in Seattle. I'm a pretty organized planner so Saturday we started with a visited to Pike Place market, took a Seattle duck tour, had a stop at Kerry Park (amazing views), enjoyed a visit to Ballard locks, soaked in the views at the Sky View Observatory and finished the day watching the Mariners beat the Tampa Bay Rays.
Sunday we drove up to Anacortes for a whale watching tour through Mystic Sea Charters. The Orcas were not cooperating but we did see lots of sea lions and a few minke whales.
After the whale watching we continued making our way up to Vancouver. The wait at the border said it was a 20 minute wait but it ended up being closer to 45 minutes. We ended up getting to Spokes a little later than I had hoped but we were determined to bike around Stanely park. We had exactly 1 hour before Spokes closed so we got down to business. We made it around the park (and even included a few stops for pictures) and back to Spokes before they closed at 9. I would have liked to have had a little more time to bike at a more leisurely pace but it wasn't meant to be. After we returned the bikes we did drive over to a few spots in Stanely Park for more pictures.
We stayed that night at a hotel in Burnaby and the next morning we drove up to the suspension bridge at Capilano. We got there around 9:30 to beat the crowds. Crossing the bridge was a little more intimidating than I thought it would be, but I made it with the help of my family. We spent about 90 minutes at Capilano. Then we headed to Canada place to park. We dropped our bags with the porters and headed off to find a parking spot. I had already paid for parking so we scanned our receipt and found a spot. We walked along Canada place to take a few pictures with the torch.
By this time it was around 12:00 and we decided it was time to finally get on the ship. We got in line and I set my timer. From when we stepped in line until we sat down in Parrot Cay for lunch it was exactly 1 hour and the line was always moving. We were given group 5 for boarding but there were zero people waiting to get on the ship.
By the time we finished lunch our stateroom was ready. We had a veranda room on deck 7. The weather was cool but we were about to keep our veranda door open quite a bit during the week.
Our stateroom host Winston was awesome as were our serving team Oka and GiGi. They all provided excellent service!
Tracey arm day was chilly and rainy but this is when having a veranda really paid for itself. We ordered room service when we were hungry and got to enjoy the views without fighting for a spot or getting wet. My husband did venture out for chicken sandwich and told me how crazy it was. We did go up stairs after we got to the glacier for a few pictures.
Next up Skagway....
