Increase in Port parking fees

Increased to $15/day. Not happy I have 3 cruises booked.
We have always left rental car in car park, might have to reconsider for longer cruises.
7 day cruise now costs $105 on top of approx $260 rental cost $365 sat in carpark. looks a bad option now. Probably still park up for 4 nights.

What I've started doing is staying the night before in the Radisson and getting my car parked there all inclusive.

Yes looked at that option before, but we have hotel booked for night before both this years cruises so not an option. Both this years are only 4 nighters so $60 is not too bad, its next years 7 nights and thats if they don't increase it again before next August.
I think the best option is to take car back to airport on way to port and get a town car to collect us there. Then take us back to airport after the cruise to get another car (and another free tank of gas ). That costs around $200, cheaper than 7 nights rental and parking($365)
Lots of time to think about it, I was just shocked at seeing $15/day. I am sure our 1st cruise was only $8/day about 4/5 years ago, big jump.

hmm, ihave a cruise booked, and we will have 2 cars as mum and dad are coming, maybe we should try to all squeeze in ours!

we have our car booked with our flights, but mum and dad havent booked theres yet, where do you lot get your cars from?

I have just booked with usrentacar.com for Easter
Full size, tank of gas, extra drivers. 2 weeks £251. Cheapest I could find. I usually use airlinenetwork.co.uk but they were £40 more this time.

For our 24 nights in August airnet is coming out cheaper, will wait and see if there are any offers nearer.

Might be worth getting a price from Budget as they have a location near the port. We used them last year and the price was very competitive especially as you don't have to pay any parking charges.

Thx Mick, will look into that, already booked car hire for Easter but will check it out for August.
Why do places get so greedy? If they had not increased it I would probably have not considered other options, now at $15 I think they have gone OTT.
