Inconsiderate Cruisers

where do u go with the trash at a hotel? Carry it by elevator to the dumpster?

My biggest peeve has been mentioned already, the 'self entitled' people that think the world owes them when everyone else also paid to be on that cruise. There was no shortage of these people on my latest cruise. What gets really annoying is when it is the same people consistently popping up around the ship acting like it. There was one particular family that stuck in my mind, they were in line in front of me for a character photo on formal night. Well, not so much the family but just the father saving a spot, the rest of them couldn't be bothered and sat in the seating area next to Future Vacations. In the 10 minutes in line he had several drinks and would make a point of getting the CMs attention to grab another if they didn't go directly past him. He was in The Tube during a show one afternoon, and apparently didn't like sitting on the stools, so he turned it on its side and sat on the metal framing, in the middle of the walkway so no one could get through. Again in The Tube, at night this time, my partner and I got there quite early and snagged a good seat. He and his wife popped up a while later and sat nearby, but I'd say 50% of the time he spent staring directly at us, it was really strange. And finally on Pirate Night, they were the one family that went against the flow of traffic in Cabanas, and once again me and my partner got a random death stare when he walked past? (Maybe he was jealous!) I wouldn't normally care about these kind of things individually, it could just be a specific quirk or the way someone acts with that one thing, but when it's the same guy the entire week you really start getting fed up and wonder what they're like at home...

I posted at the beginning of this thread but after being at Disneyland over the weekend i was reminded of another pet peeve.

We really wanted to see the Paint the Night parade on Saturday night, so at 6:30 my kids and I found some decent seats on the cement next to the castle where we had the privilege of sitting for the next 1.5 hours until parade time at 8:00. The only time any of us moved was when my 2 kids went to New Orleans Square to get some Mickey Beignets.

Fast forward to about 7:55 and here comes the onslaught of parents with strollers wanting to plop down in front of us so their kids could see the parade. I couldn't believe how many people tried to "squeeze" into our little area. Then they had the nerve to get pissed at me because I wasn't willing to contort myself into a ball so they could see the parade

Sorry, but if something is that important to you, you need to make the proper concessions and planning to make it happen.

And now I will step off my soap box and resume my regular activities.

My first cruise ever (and on the Magic less than two weeks ago), it was just hubby and I, and we were waiting in line the first night to see goofy and this obnoxious (drunk) lady with her kid was upset that the CM had closed the line to see goofy as it was already 1/2 hour past his allotted time and they needed to get the next character there in that spot. She threw a fit and made a HUGE scene. I was just so embarrassed for her family. I saw her around the ship a lot those four days and she was the same obnoxious person the entire time. I knew she was drunk the first night as she had finished the drink of the day and had another one going.

Another pet peeve is stop yelling at your kids. Good gosh we were just heading thru the mickey ears at the port and one mom and dad were laying into their excited kids. Sorry, but kids are going to be excited. Let them experience it instead of trying to tell them to calm down and act like robots. Just made me sad as the kid wasnt trashing the port or running around, just jumping in place.

Seriously - you consider someone drunk who has had more than one drink?

Where to start? Oh the line cutters, the parents that let kids run wild, CM not doing anything and even siding on behalf of the inconsiderate ones (yep saw it first hand), parents that lose their kids while kids are in complete parental responsibility at the theater, atrium, and again on CC. (Edit: for clarity it was same family, same kids getting lost)
The one that bothers me most are parents that aren't prepared with anything and expect everyone else to help them. Once on deck we were watching one woman with her kids head to a table. Se asked the people at the next table if they have a wipe (their wipes were out on the table so she saw them). They kids had drinks, one kid spills the drink - she has no napkins and her wipe supply family had left. She asked a gentleman near by to grab some napkins for her. They go to pool. She had no sunblock in her bag, she asked people next to her to borrow their spray sunblock. She had no towels, she asked a CM to fetch her some, but only after she sat on the edge of the lounger for some time until she saw a CM come close by.
She was chatting with another person about the jewelry she picked up in port, while her child went wondering - not far but away enough as to be out of sight. Apparently the child was crying on the way back and had fallen and had scrapped knees and hands. Wouldn't you know it she asked everyone around for first aid kit LOL, She finally left to care for the kid.
i just don't get it....Albeit entertaining for DH and I

I honestly doubt the woman was that drunk after 1 and a half drinks of the day, more than likely she was just an obnoxious person with entitlement issues that felt that Disney disappointed her and her precious snowflake because Goofy needed a break.

Haha...not on Disney cruise drinks you aren't getting drunk after 1 or even two drinks. :) It took my husband a Cognac tasting with 4 different cognacs plus one more after the tasting to get a buzz. lol
I had 3 Amaretto Sours in the course of the day...(GASP...call AA) and never even felt it. Which is funny because I am not much of a drinker to begin with.

Wow, and why I dont post much here. Yes I'm 10000% sure she was drunk. I only mentioned she had 1 finished and 1/2 of one gone while in line. Someone that cant even stand up without swaying and slurring, I would say yes she was drunk. I think I'm old enough to know when someone was drunk versus someone with an entitled attitude.

I apologize Cheermom2four. I was really going for levity there in saying that Disney cruise line drinks (and even those at the parks) are not all that strong. Obviously, you witnessed her slurring behavior firsthand and it was presumptious of me to treat your comments with disrespect.

And I promptly became someone snarky which is not my nature.
Have a great evening.

Where to start? Oh the line cutters, the parents that let kids run wild,

Oh yeah, I forgot this one in my post... it seemed like every time on my latest cruise that they did something in the lobby atrium that involved characters or crew using the staircase there would be at least one errant child that would climb up the stairs. One kid thought it was a game before the character dance party, and a female CM kept having to be called to lead the kid back down the stairs. Don't know where the parents were, they probably didn't care.

Speaking of the staircase being in use, when it is blocked off there is very clearly a rope across it, usually also across the walkway to D Lounge/Vista Gallery, and more often than not CMs around to stop people from rushing through whatever is happening. The amount of people that think the rules don't apply to them and climb over the rope and scurry down the staircase or to the other side of Deck 4 when an event is right about to start... at least hundreds of people are watching them make a fool of themselves. Seriously it takes maybe 30 seconds at the most to find another route. My favourite is when they go over the rope to head down the staircase, and a CM will race up from the bottom and tell them to go back up and around. Walk of shame, Disney style!

eh, no foul done. Was just shocked by someone being that intoxicated on a Disney cruise. Maybe thats how she rolls LOL and obviously it helped her with the confidence level.

I refuse to buy cocktails anymore for this exact reason. Last cruise I was only drinking beer or wine from a purchased bottle b/c cocktails were weak and wine by the glass was either turned or served waaaayy too warm.

THAT
We have learned the hard way. We only buy bottles, opened fresh in front of us. DH got acid re-flux so bad from a glass of red wine, he choked 1/2 a glass to not make server fell bad, because it was first night. I ordered a glass of white in the lounge and it was vinegar. This was on the same cruise so it is bottles from now on, Lesson learned.

Yep. Bar service outside of the specialty lounges is terrible. palo/remy would never serve a bad glass of wine and Skyline will always serve a proper martini (or whatever). However, MDR or Poolside bars are terrible. One pirate night we got two glass of warm 90% turned Pinot Noir. We exchanged them for two Cuba Libres that I'm pretty sure were just plain coke.
