So we have put a few offers in but here is my question

We already have a trip planned for October at POR but we would really like to use our DVC if everything goes through in time. What are the chances of getting a room only a few months out?

If you do not care where you stay, chances are not bad for October. Most likely AKV, OKW or SSR would have something open. It will take between two and three months from having an agreed contract before you would be able to book, And it can certainly take longer. So best case, you would be able to make reservations around late July and would be 2 to 3 month out.

I would think your chances in October would be pretty good. But, as others have said, your chances are significantly improved 3-4 months out from your arrival date.

See. I disagree about getting something last minute in October. It's a very popular time with members and I know several places were already booked up before the seven month time frame came for October. I went with my second choice and got it, but I booked exactly seven months out.

I disagree, too. It could be hard, particularly on the weekend.

Our home resort is OKW. We have just purchased an add on via resale and are waiting for the sellers to return their closing documents (it has been well over a week, almost two...so it will now still be two weeks or so before we can make a reservation).

I was getting antsy so checked availability for our early November reservation, and there is already no availability for several of our days.

Fall is a popular time for us DVC members...because it's a great time to go.

I disagree, too. Last week I was looking for just 1 night in October, anytime there was a MNSSHP and all I could get was SSR or OKW. We ended up booking the whole week at VB and will just drive in for the day.

SSR currently has a studio available for every night in Oct except for Oct 7th.

OKW for a studio is missing 12 nights scattered throughout the month.

IF you are flexible you have a chance. IF you have fixed days then that chance decreases. IF you are flexible on the unit size the odds are better than if you have to have something specific.

But if you are just in the offer process you're looking at approx 2 months until you are in the system and that really decreases the odds of you have fixed days.

We are very flexible and not set on October but would love mnsshp for our 5 year old. I would be willing to do November or December also so I guess it's just a wait and see. It was more about the weather still being warm
