In search of my body...not the one I ate!

Wake up sleepy heads! Where is everyone this morning...?? At the gym, I hope!

I'm here... sorta... lol!!!

Okay, yesterday was interesting.

To start, here is my food for yesterday:
L: omelette w/ turkey sausage, onion, 2% cheddar, egg beaters (200), one slice toast (50), sf pudding (60)
D: 3 16 oz miller lites (380), 1 slice sf angel food cake (120)

So, as you can see... I skipped dinner. This is because at 6:15 when I was headed out to the store, I backed into my n'bors car which was parked nose into the curb next to my driveway, and thanks to a combo of a HUGE blind spot in my SUV and just plain not paying attention... whammo! Thankfully I just chipped the paint a bit on their bumper, and scraped some paint off mine. However, this made me 20 min late (as I had to ring their doorbell and eat crow), and I got home from the store at 7:45 instead of 7:25 (when hubby gets home).

This lateness becomes important because we had decided to run cat-5 (ethernet cable, to hard-wire his computer to the internet rather than using wireless) through the attic last night. We didn't get started until about 8:30, and finished up around 1:30, and wound up with no dinner because somehow being covered in blown insulation and sawdust doesn't make one want to stop and make food. I cut OSB with a power saw and drilled 1" holes in the header, which makes me feel accomplished.

However, I am sore as heck today. Evidently the key to a mini-plateau is eating practically nothing, drinking a bunch of lite beer, not eating, and killing yourself putting holes in the walls, because I was 177 this morning (was hovering around 181-182 all weekend).

I will leave you with one gross thought... if you ever decided to do something like this, I would recommend using a mask. Otherwise, you will be blowing insulation out your nose for at least half a day!! :rotfl:

See I told ya you'd break through!!! Grats!!!

UGH on the insulation and sawdust! DH is Mr. Handy Man, so I am fortunate never have to do anything like that. I don't even change light bulbs. Seriously.

But AWESOME to the 177! Ok, so you know me...I live in Plateauville...:rotfl2: ...I am writing down what you ate yesterday and will follow it! :lmao: ANYTHING to get of this plateau from HELL! I don't know how much longer I can keep this up if I don't start seeing the scale move.

On to better news....already back from the gym and did double-duty. Ran and did a weight training workout. I am adding a kick-boxing class to the mix this week (not till the end of the week), so that is cool. I have wanted to try it for years. I hear it is an incredible workout!

Ok, back to the Monday morning grind! :goodvibes

Woohoo!!!! Good job on the work out and have fun starting the kick boxing class!!

I was a little bummed this morning cuz I put almost a lb on. No idea why... don't really need to know. I know I did everything right this weekend. No cheating for me :) Still down from last Friday's weigh which is all that matters. Going to the gym tonight in my snazzy new work out pants... lol! I bought all my female co-workers wind up sushi that I found at walmart in the toy section... they were sooo cute! Anywho I gotta get back to the grind... Have a magical day everyone!!!

Kat - We are looking for a few folks for our roofing crew.... sounds like you are somewhat experienced.... let me know if you are interested.... :rotfl2: :rotfl: :rotfl2:

To all you folks doing home repair - remember to use your safety gear.... gloves to protect your hands from cuts and scrapes, safety glasses to protect your eyes, good shoes with rugged sole to protect your feet (stepping on a nail or screw is just not fun), dust masks for when you are cutting, sanding, etc to protect your lungs, etc. These are all important to keeping you healthy and safe. Also - please be sure to use safe practices when working from ladders, platforms, etc. Falls, even from low heights of 3' - 4' can be just as dangerous as those from higher elevations (like the 150' I sometimes find myself at). Be sure to use ladders that are in good repair, properly set up, etc.

I wouldn't want any of you to get hurt....

Safety Goof (picture me in my hard hat....)

I actually bought a stuffed Goofy just because he was wearing overalls, a hard hat, construction boots, etc and was carrying his lunch box and a roll of drawings. My sister saw it first and convinced me to buy it because it reminder her of me... I'll have to dig it out and take a picture of it (it got packed for my upcoming move). If I can figure out how to do it, I can make that my new avatar.... that would be too funny...

I don't remember where I bought this, but it was one of those times when I wasn't looking for it, but it was looking for me....

Good luck finding the right Daisy....

kat - wow! busy Sunday!

Did you have many problems?

Nope. The only problem I had was some of my hair fell out, but it's back now. Oh - and I had problems staying hydrated - but I just upped my water intake to 80 oz + per day and I'm fine.

ummm...since you put it out there - do the 45 minutes!!! You are worth the extra 15 minutes :goodvibes (heck - you're worth w-a-y more than that, but let's not get too crazy here! )

Today I did another one of Jillian Michaels killer circuits - then I had my first PT session for my foot. :rolleyes1 I really am not a fan of being inconvenienced! :rotfl: but - when the therapist explained what was going on and showed me with a little skelton foot and very detailed muscle/tendon pictures....now I know why it's been bothering me! So goody - I get to keep going back, several times a week until I see the orthopedic again (6 weeks...) <where's the whiny smile??? :lmao: >

3Kids - enjoy the kickboxing! :yay: I is tons of fun (and a killer workout :scared: ) Make lots of loud karate-chop noises!!! You'll be kickin' butts and takin' names in no time!!! :worship:

Kat - promise me you'll use a face mask next time! Be safe, girl! And :cool1: to the 177!

Erika - I really need to come exercise with you for a weekend. Lord, woman, you are an inspiration! (As I sit on my bu++ and type!)

Gang - I have been sick. Nothing good to report. Although my husband did come home early from his trip, so that's good. I missed him! Who would have thunk?

I have to get back on my exercise train! We leave for FL and WDW on the 18th...and guess what? I am going to stay on plan for the whole trip. Yes, you heard it here first. I will go to a WW meeting while on vacation. I will count my points. I will walk for exercise. I will drink my water. I will lose weight, even if it's only half a pound, while on vacation, while at WDW, with ADRs! Over Candy Day, I mean Easter. :lmao: I will do it!

OH MY GOSH!!! I have got to start making it here over the weekends!! Dawn and Dan.....:lovestruc  CONGRATULATIONS!!! I am so happy for both of you. How exciting. I am so dense! I read the posts and it never dawned on me. :yay:

That is absolutely true. Everyone should do that, whether they are an occasional jogger or training for a marathon. :thumbsup2 I have been fitted (when I was actually training for the marathon! :goodvibes ) and sorry to say, it's not the shoes. :sad2: I think it's a function of age and abuse to my body (as in the physical abuse that I put myself thru. see above- I'm an exercise addict. Unfortunately, I'm also a FOOD addict, and they don't quite cancel each other out...:confused3 ) This *injury* is most likely simply a result of over-use...:rolleyes1

I have had recurring knee issues since I started running. I bought the $165 Asic Kinsei running shoes so I really hope it isn't the shoes. DH will strangle me if I have to buy another pair. :scared:

Goof - can you pm me your last name...
Sept Girl - can you pm me your last name

As of now...born2bird, AKA Snow White, DWD & MUNKYME13 are still a NOYDB (okay I am LMAO right now because I just fixed this and AKA Snow White was..AKA SOW WHITE...not a good leader of a weight loss thread huh!!!)

I need to verify that this has not changed please.......

Pixieshouse .....do you mind sharing your weight or do you want it private and only let people know your weight loss/gain.

We need this soon please so we do not out anyone wanting to be private...

That is correct, I am still in the NYOB group :rolleyes1 also I just bought my self the fancy pants digital scale

kat - I'm at 125/130 lost right now and in a size 14. :cool1: I broke up with Tammy at the beginning of December and have been dating guys since the end of December. I've been seeing one guy since the second week in January.
It's not as serious as I'd like, but I'm trying to just roll with it.

to all the boarder babes (and guy) - I had gastric bypass in February of 2007 (starting weight 319 and size 30). As a result, I can't eat a lot of carbs.
My friends laugh at me because the guy I'm seeing is a bread delivery man for Bunny bread (that's what I said!) - so they all tell me it won't work because I can't have carbs.

WOW!! that is amazing! The pictures you posted were impressive. You really do not look like the same person at all.

Bunny bread...I love it. Sounds like the perfect match to me. :rotfl2:

...My husband of 13 years (21 years together) decided to leave me and the kids this past summer... something to do with sex!!! I was on holidays for a week visiting my sister and when I came back home, he was at the door and told me that he was leaving, no explanation...
I found myself a job well actually I'm working 2 jobs... I have custody of the kids, and my goal is to make sure that my kids are well taking care off and secure... so in May I am going to Disney to get some energy and fun back in my life...
And that's it for me... well not it... so much Drama in my life right now and not caused by me... but my ex and his family ha! ha!

Welcome!! You are going to love it here! Thank you for sharing your story with us. I am sorry anyone would have to go through all of that though. No one deserves to be treated like that. Good for you doing what you need to to provide for your children.

I did 35 minutes on the elliptical (my trainers goal last year was 45 min)
40 crunches
20 crunches to each side
some leg lifts
and some good stretching

My little polar watch says I burned 403 calories

Hopefully that will mean the scale will start to go down along with my clothes fitting better!!

Off to do laundry and pick up after the family.

Way to go!! BTW, what is a polar watch? I need to look that up.

I am also a huge fan of my crock pot! I always find that have 20-30 minutes in the morning or earlier in the day...but once the kids get home, I am swamped and it gets really hard to find time to cook!

Hope you can get in some down time now. :goodvibes

I hear you on the time crunch. I only have 2 kids and the evenings are just insane. God help me when they are old enough to play sports.:scared: I have a hard time finding good vegetarian crock-pot recipes. Any suggestions would be most appreciated..:flower3:

On to better news....already back from the gym and did double-duty. Ran and did a weight training workout. I am adding a kick-boxing class to the mix this week (not till the end of the week), so that is cool. I have wanted to try it for years. I hear it is an incredible workout!

Ok, back to the Monday morning grind! :goodvibes

You are the exercise QUEEN!! I don't know how you find the energy with working until 1am...:faint:

I missed everyone this weekend! I read back to Friday so I am all caught up. I hope yuo are having a good Monday!

ummm...since you put it out there - do the 45 minutes!!!

Remember, Sarah, that this advice is coming from the one who has admitted that she is addicted to exercise!

Glad you are getting this taken care of.

3Kids - enjoy the kickboxing! :yay: I is tons of fun (and a killer workout :scared: ) Make lots of loud karate-chop noises!!! You'll be kickin' butts and takin' names in no time!!! :worship:

I am totally psyched to try it. Do you think it is ok that I am not 25????

Erika - I really need to come exercise with you for a weekend. Lord, woman, you are an inspiration! (As I sit on my bu++ and type!)

So sorry that you have been sick! I have to get off this freakin' plateau--that is all this is about really. I am going on 5 weeks and a total of 2 pounds in 5 weeks...and I am exercising 60 minutes a day (some days 90) 5 days per week. It HAS to work, right??? RIGHT??? Seriously, I am going berserk here!

Didn't realize you had a trip coming up so quickly. Now I have to stop talking to you...you are dead to me...again (good thing you keep resurrecting yourself cause I would miss you otherwise! :rotfl2:  )

I have had recurring knee issues since I started running. I bought the $165 Asic Kinsei running shoes so I really hope it isn't the shoes. DH will strangle me if I have to buy another pair. :scared:

I hope it is not the shoes...I am going through the same thing right now and I better just move out if these shoes don't work out...

I hear you on the time crunch. I only have 2 kids and the evenings are just insane. God help me when they are old enough to play sports.:scared: I have a hard time finding good vegetarian crock-pot recipes. Any suggestions would be most appreciated..:flower3:

I have a good book. I'll dig it out and PM you the title and author. And you aren't kidding about the sports. OMG--it is killer. Just DS does travel soccer and that alone is terrible. Little leage stars in 6 weeks and I already want to die. All 3 kids...3 different teams...3 different leagues. Honestly I do not know how we are going to do it. DS will be in the minors and they travel. DD will be playing coach-pitch softball, and our youngest DD is in t-ball. I am going to be certifiable half way through the season!

You are the exercise QUEEN!! I don't know how you find the energy with working until 1am...:faint:

Read above...it is either keep exercising or jump off the nearest bridge. And since I live at sea level, there really aren't any bridges around...

I missed everyone this weekend! I read back to Friday so I am all caught up. I hope yuo are having a good Monday!

This thread has made me love Mondays! Cause now everyone checks back in and I am so happy to hear from everyone! :grouphug:

Caesar wraps and veggies for lunch... yummy! Hope everyone is having a good one!

Mr Kat just THINKS he is Mr Handyman... he is the cut first think later kind of guy. So it is better to help.

You know, I actually didn't work out much at all last week due to the cold. I wonder if that helped with actual weight loss but I lost muscle? Hey, at this point I don't much care what I lose as long as it is loss! (well, maybe a bit of the "girls" can stick around...).

See I told ya you'd break through!!! Grats!!!

Thanks!! I had put 2 lb on, on Sat morning, and then they seemed to go off w/ 3 friends this morning? Who knows.

I was on OSB in the attic so no danger of falling. But I have actually done roofing before, with Habitat for Humanity. I have also helped put in a subfloor (1st and 2nd floor), hung inside doors, put up siding, and put up shutters.

I unfortunately wish I had a mask for all the crummy blown insulation, but by the time I realized that it was too late. When we do the other wall (likely on Thursday), I think I may pick one up. That and a 1.5 inch auger bit, since the 1" didn't really work too well w/ 3/4" conduit (which, as I found out, the 3/4" means on the INSIDE!!).

Today is going to be a looooong day. Its just moving so slow... Debating whether or not to do 30 or 45 minutes at the gym tonight... Probably 30 given how my thighs and butt feel... I hope everyone's day is a little more fast paced than mine... :surfweb:

Been flying for me, for some reason. Probably because I am woefully behind!!

Okay, I was a good girl and went to the gym at lunch... got in the shower, soaped up my hair, and the water went COLD. I mean... COLD!!! So I pleaded for help to the girl in the locker room (someone I used to work with) and she got it to go warm again (not sure how, turned on a different shower and said something about back pressure). I rinsed the soap out of my hair, put on conditioner and soaped up, and BAM. ICE COLD. Man, looking at that spray and realizing I was going to have to stand under it sucked. I managed to get most of the conditioner out and I only let about 10 f* bombs go during.

Hope everyone is having a better few days than I am!!

Hi everyone...

nice to see everyone checking in again (including me since I was AWOL all weekend....)

I looked up and realized that it was nearing 4:00... where did the day go? I am away at a conference the second half of this week so I need to get as much done before I leave so I have been one busy gal...

I am off to my Jenny Craig appointment and then to my swim class. I have no idea how I fared this week since it was pretty much a blur, but I'll soon find out.... Tomorrow is another day right?

Goof
