In search of buttons or pins

Hey there fellow Canucks.

I'm taking my son & 3 nephews to WDW this year. I haven't told them yet. I have been searching for 4 buttons or pins I could get as a little token when I tell them. I prefer to have just the castle on them as the kids aren't into or have even watched anything Mickey, Donald Duck or Goofy related, so that won't mean anything to them. But they have watched Disney movies and know the castle.

Does anyone know where I could find some reasonably priced ones either online or in a physical store? I live near Kingston, Ontario.

The Disney store has there pins marked down + 50% off. You can always Pin trade down there for a better deal

e-bay usually has pins at good prices. You just have to watch for any fakes that cannot be traded.

Well I actually wanted them before we got to Disney so I could give them to the kids when I tell them I'm taking them. Just as a little token... So waiting until we get there won't do.

I have checked the Disney store but couldn't find any with just the castle...

I will however check Ebay. Never thought of that.

Often they have a lot of Disney items. They also have some of those Disney pins that light up as well. They're not like official Disney trading pins, but they are I think what you might be looking for. Also, they would look neat at night at MK!

I will try ebay and maybe disney shopping online. It's a great way to start them in pin trading this way.

I've bought lots of pins on ebay, you should be able to get real trading pins for about $2.50 & shipping. Often i've bought wholesale lots ( 50 of the same pin) and then they have to trade them: which is the best part of pin collecting

If you want to surprise them... Try to get into a "pay it forward" in dis boards.
or a fairy god mailer is another name for it.

This is where strangers that go to Disney before you send post cards to disboards children. Example:

A nice couple from Pittsburgh sent 2 disney post cards to my dd5 and ds1 at xmas last year. They included a personal message I ask them to write that they wrote from a disney princess. My dd5 was so excited that Sleeping Beauty mailed her a post card. It was priceless to see her reaction.

I think your nephews would be so surprised to get a postcard from disney world saying something like "Hi it's Mickey Mouse, I think it's time for you to come down to Disney world. I know Pluto is very excited to meet you".

One thing it depends on is when you are going? You need to give enough time to get the postcards mailed to you.

We are going in the end of August and a couple is heading down on Saturday. They will be sending my kids postcards which should get here before we leave. When we go down I will be sending 6 postcards (3 families). It cost a little but it's a pay it forward idea!!

My dd5 was just asking if she will be getting a postcard from a princess this year.

I said I don't know. i guess we will have to wait and see. She keeps checking the mail every couple days

I just bought pins at the Disney store for about $2.50 each and got some really cute ones. I bought three of a postcard looking pin with Minnie and Mickey on it that says "Family Vacation". I was at the Vaughan Mills store. Lots of other great sales as well for clearance items - last price + an additional 50% off.
