In-room TV channel "view from Bridge"?

I read a suggestion somewhere (who knows where at this point) for those people with inside staterooms to set their TV to the "view from the bridge" channel before going to bed to have that be your "window" in the morning. I'm sure it sounds lame to some of you (esp. those with real windows and verandah and such) but I thought it was a neat idea.

Since I found it on a general cruise website I have to ask, do anyone remember if there was a channel that was something like the view from the bridge?

DCL definately has an in-room channel that show a view from the bridge.....you can see the basketball courts and where the ship is headed....it is neat to watch but the view does not change much when you are out at sea...just a whole lotta ocean!!!

Yes there is, but I prefer my view from the verandah

Even if the view doesn't change much while at sea, for those of us without a direct view of the outside (I see you mocking me with your dancing banana :earboy2: ) maybe it will still provide some kind of ambient light to aid in convincing my body it is indeed time to get up. :)

As another family who will be deprived of natural sunlight while in our inside stateroom (but hey, at least we will be on the ship!), I am pleased to hear that we can have a view from the bridge on the TV. Kinda reminds me of the "yulelog" fire on TV during Christmas. :rolleyes2
We'd all like to have a verandah, I am sure, but for those of us happy to just be there, Yeah :cheer2: for the TV!

In January on the Wonder we could actually use the view from the bridge to keep an eye on DS when he would go to play basketball and we might just be relaxing in the stateroom, reading, whatever. We could see him on the court. Last week on the Magic the camera provided a view of the basketball backboard itself at the very bottom of the screen, and then the ocean beyond. We wished they would have adjusted the camera view downward to keep an eye on the basketball court.

And I've seen people playing basketball at 2:30 in the morning. Whoot!

No timers....wish they did!!! At home I always set my TV timer before going to bed....I think all hotels and ships should have timers on the remotes....hey, you are vacation and I hate having to find the remote to turn off the TV....yes, it is lazy but it would just make so much sense on vacation....lying in bed and blissfully drifting off to sleep....instead of worrying about turning the TV off.....

Stinasmom: I thought your comment about the Yule Log on TV was a riot! We had the same thought...but we watch that "View From The Bridge" all the time--even when we had a verandah, we had it playing! DH says its very soothing.

When we have an inside cabin, it gives us lots of required information...is the sun up yet? Are we docked yet? Is anyone playing basketball at this hour of the night?

I can't wait to watch it again!

Thank you, I needed a laugh this morning. My uncle actually has a Yule Log video tape and we watch it every Christmas Eve - it is tradition now. The whole family knows when one section of the log will fall down. LOL! Oh, my side hurts.
