I really want to do something special for my family. We are all adults but would love to present them with a surprise in the room. I have heard many people mention the Disney Florest and Memories by Betsy. Are there any more that deliver to Disney resorts. These places seem so limited. Also, does anyone have any ideas for what to put in adults baskets?

Thanks,
Beth:banana:

I don't know of any others off the top of my head, but I'm sure there are some. BTW, I've used Memories by Betsy before (and Memories by Sarah before that, but Sarah movied) -- I was very, very pleased with Betsy. In fact, I'm working with her right now to put together a welcome back gift for each of my daughters and a welcome basket for my parents.

It has been MUCH easier to design the gifts for my daughters -- a new Disney baseball cap for each of them, another pin lanyard (theirs are full) and set of trading pins, and a few other little items. I might pick up a few things there to send to her to include, as well.

My problem is what to put in my parents' basket. She used to be able to include food items in the basket, so I was going to use a lot of that but she can't do that anymore (turns out it has always been against the rules, just didn't know it). So I'm trying to come up with a few ideas myself!

I would browse her website and the Disney Florist website, as well as some of the online Disney shops to get some ideas. I might ask her to find some Disney golf balls for my Dad since he loves to play golf, and a Disney cookbook for my Mom (she loves to cook and I've fixed several Disney recipes for her), and maybe a water bottle strap for each of them. Still need to come up with a couple more ideas.

Maybe a picture frame and then they could put a favorite picture from their trip in it when they get home? Do they wear hats? If so, maybe a nice Disney cap or hat (there are some cute ones). What are their interests and hobbies? Maybe you can find some Disney items along those lines.

This isn't a basket, but another idea for an in-room gift is a chocolate Mickey with chocolate covered strawberries. I know this can be ordered in advance through in-room dining at some of the resorts (not sure where you're staying).

:) As a sort of surprise for my parents I packed extra window klings(Christmas decorations, flat and packed well) for them in Dec. I also packed a flat gift bag and munchy food to put in the bag--we somehow distracted them and I left it on the night stand, with tissue paper and everything. They loved it.

:)You could also print them out some decorated Mousekepping envelopes to leave tips in their room--I have already done this for DH and I and then different ones for MIL and BIL. She really liked them and thought they were cute. She also said I "was way too addicted"---at least she smiled and gave me a wink when she said it. THat would be something fun and practicle. What about having the refillable mugs delivered in a small basket?? My parents love, love, loved theirs--could she do that for you??

Those are awesome ideas! I thought it was so cute how the Disney Florist would do a huge birthday gift and leave mickey footprints and tinkerbell shadow in the room. I called and asked if they would do that for another basket, one cheaper. Apparantly, they like to reserve this feature for those spending up to $400. Not in my price range. Betsy sounds great but I would have to rely on her totally. She sounds trustworthy though. The last time I was in Disney was 5 years ago so I dont really remember all of the merch available.

This would be incredible if it were possible. Im staying at SSR though. Im not sure if they could provide this. Should I call and ask?

I have used Memories by Betsy and did baskets for my DH and DS. It was easy to do my DS basket...it was a Star Wars theme. For my DH I put in a refillable mug, a picture frame and a few other odds and ends.
It was great to work with Betsy and the boys loved their baskets when we got in the room!
Im hoping next trip the boys do a basket for me!!

I used Memories By Betsy and she was fantastic. She will custom a basket for you with anything you wish, even if it's not on her website. She was great at giving me ideas for a basket for my DH and DS10. She actually went to Downtown Disney and searched for exactly what I wanted and e-mailed me pictures to make sure it was right. She also e-mailed me a photo of the final product for me to preview. I would absolutely recommend her to anyone! :thumbsup2

What does the Memories by Betsy $28 fee include? Is this just delivery?

It is delivery, but she also deserves to make something off of the basket. She charges you $28 plus the cost of the items she includes in your basket. That must cover her costs to shop for the items, put them together as a basket and deliver them. Seems pretty cheap to me for all the work included.

Does anyone have any details about the choc. covered strawberries from in room dining? I am staying at the Boardwalk Villas and would love to have a sweet little treat for my boyfriend when we arrived. Any suggestions on how to go about this?

I have just been on memories by Betsy and what a lovely idea! I am looking into ordering for when we get there!! Such cute baskets:lovestruc
