Tried to search, but it kept giving me WDW results even when I tried to choose threads/posts in Disneyland.

It would just be for my dd4 for 3-4 hours when we're visiting in September. I'm looking for recommendations people on here have actually used and trust, not just heard of. It would be nice to have a few dapper hours without her and finally have a drink at Carthay Circle all dolled up, but as we all know, it's not very easy to trust our kids with strangers. Thanks in advance!

Are you staying on-site? Last I checked (which has been awhile) the hotels have a service they recommend. Don't know who they are though :[

@Comicbookmommy We are, we'll be staying at the GCH. I've seen Destination Sitters, but for as long as I've heard about them, they don't seem to have much of a social media following, which always weirds me out a bit.

@NiceOneSimba Thank you so much! What I have seen from Destination Sitters looks positive, that's the one name that keeps popping up. If I end up using them during our trip, I'll definitely make a report about it on here to help others who are searching.

Destination Sitters is who we used in May with our 13 month old... it was awesome. We had a fantastic time out and felt very comfortable with the sitter. They also kept in very close contact before our trip and during to make sure everything was okay.

If she's between 5-12 the GCH has a kids play area called Pinnochios's Workshop... I bet it would be fun to have a few hours of playtime with others on vacation!

Unfortunately, she'll be about 6 months shy of 5 :( I would feel so much better about putting her there especially since it's just her and no siblings, but oh wellll. Reading others accounts have made me feel so much better about using an outside company.

Hi there! We went to DLR in May, We used Destination Sitters and would definitely use them again without hesitation. There is a 4 hour minimum. The gal we used is a UC Irvine college student, Andrea was her name. My DD absolutely loved her and like having a "nanny" like the children in Mary Poppins lol! She arrived on time, to our hotel room (offsite) and we went over special instructions, and signed paperwork stating that she could take her outside of the room. As long as it's in walking distance they can take them. She took my DD swimming, down Harbor Blvd. to Coldstone Creamery for ice cream, and they came back to the room and weaved bracelets and she braided DD's hair while we were gone 4 hours!! My DD has already asked for her on our next trip! Highly recommend based on professionalism, and peace of mind. And our sitter was simply amazing!!! The company will call and set you up with a sitter when it is close to your date. If you have any questions don't hesitate to ask.

Here's my write up of when we did just that:

It was a magical (albeit expensive) night, but the sitter was perfection.

Enjoy your time alone, it is a real treat.

Thanks @whoever! I read your report, I don't know how I missed that one before, I always enjoy your trip reports. For a second I was like oooo, napa rose chefs table and then I read your report and was like Carthay Circle it is ;) Are you guys going to be back again for Dapper Days in the fall?

We are coming back as a family (and I'll be there once or twice between now and then by myself) in October for an 8-day stay at the DLH. Sadly no Dapper Days for us this time. It was MELT YOU days last fall, and now that they moved the spring DD into late April I think I'm not even sure on that one now. Dapper Days needs to be in the cooler months.

I agree. I haven't been to one in the fall yet, so I'm already preparing for a bake. I love the parks in October, you guys will have a great time, as always. I think we'll be back again in November, I can't resist holiday time in the parks, it's my favorite.

Question about parking for the sitter if using someone like Destination: we're staying in a GCV DVC room and will not have a car of our own - can the babysitter back for free using our space if we aren't using it? Or would we still need to pay for their parking regardless?

I didn't pay for my sitter's parking. Not sure how that worked out, but it was not part of the cost specifically called out.

What is the tipping situation for Destination Sitters?
