Im sure this has been discused but i was having trouble finding any recent ones (the only one i found was from 2001). If you have used in room baby sitting which company did you use. If there is a particular person that you like let me know. If you had a bad experience please post it.

If some one knows of a forum that already has this on it please direct me.

Thanx in advance.

Oh, I want to know this also. I would love for hubby and I to go to JellyRolls one night. Sounds so fun!

We are planning a night at the california grill, we are really looking fwd to it. I just want to be sure we pick the right person to watch our daughter.

We're doing a grownup night at Cali Grill too and I'm looking for an in-room sitter too!

Not sure how old your children are but DD7 loves the kid's club. She has done Neverland at Poly and Sandcastle at Yacht Club. She said the Sandcastle is the best and has requested to go back on our next trip. She is very shy and normally won't stay easy with strangers. The rooms and care givers are great.

hopefully, you'll get some feedback today.

But, we're planning on using "Kids Nite Out." They say it "is Walt Disney World’s preferred childcare provider." And the old reviews I've read on here were all good.

My DD is 2 so she will not be able to go to any of the kids clubs. I thought i would get a better response then this but I will keep trying.

I'm interested too.
My DD will be 27 mos when we travel, and my nephew 12 mos. We are entertaining the thought of an adults only dinner & drinks, or night at the park...

I hope some people have great reviews!

We used Kids Nite Out. At first I didn't like our sitter (can't remember her name for the life of me), but then after awhile she warmed up, she was probably just nervous because my mom and grandma were all there when she came to the room. When DH and I came back the baby was sleeping in her pack and play. So, not STELLAR service that I would rave about, but good enough that I felt comfortable (and I'm a VERY anxious person!). Also, she brought activities for my 4 yr old but my 4 yr old ended up going to her grandma's hotel. But, it's the thought that counts. DH and I got a nice night out on Valentine's Day. They do have a minimum of 4 hrs though. It was pretty expensive but worth it.

Can I ask the posters a question please? I see a need here and I want to seek your advice. Would you hire a very nice fellow Disser that is a Nana (Grandma) and even though not affliated with a babysitting service if she could provide extremely good references as to her character (she once worked for Florida Hwy Patrol and went through extensive background check ie-fingerprints etc for hire & could give contact numbers for FHP) would you hire her? just asking

We've used Kids Nite Out a few times now over the past few years, and we have always been very happy with them. They come prepared with activities and can bring your child/ren out and about within your resort grounds but *not* to the pool (safety/liability considerations). We usually have them stay in the room and either order dinner in or pick up resort CS food for the girls. Our sitters have ranged from the college type to the grandmother type and have been consistently great. I used the website to put in a reservation request, and the company called me back within a couple of days to finalize the reservation. You can also call them directly. We'll be using KNO again during our visit next month, and I'm looking forward to a spa/Jiko date with DH knowing the girls will be safe and happy!

We've used Fairy Godmothers at least a half-dozen times, maybe more. Started when our son was 1 and used them until he was about 6, when he switched to the kids' clubs. There was a four hour minimum and a travel time allotment. They don't do water activities like swimming and bath.

We always liked our sitters....we mainly used the same one if she was available. It was a bit pricey, and the woman who owns the service sounds a bit grumpy even though she's really not. This is a private service that's been around 20 plus years, mostly with the same sitters. They bring a suitcase of age-appropriate toys, and in general are just great ladies.

No, I would not--even though certainly she would be wonderful, I just couldn't do that, especially in a city far from home. If I'm going to leave my kids with a stranger I need there to be some kind of formal accountability which a "freelance" babysitter wouldn't have. Also I wouldn't be sure what the rules would be for insurance, etc. if heaven forbid she or one of the kids got hurt.

We used All About Kids for our three kids, then 8, 2, ans 10 mos. Our sitter was an older Jamaican woman and we loved her. I only decided to use a sitter because my eldest would be able to report back to me if she wasn't good. She was GREAT! She played with the kids nad had them all asleep when we got back. She was wonderful. I wish I could remember her name.

I would definitely recommend getting a sitter from one of the WDW approved sites. We found AAK in the Unofficial Guide last year.

We used Kid' Nite Out in Janary and had a girl named Erin. We were scheduled for two nights with her and my kids loved her so much that we booked a third time!

Thank you everyone for the feed back i think at this point we will be going with kids night out. But i would still love further feedback from other guests.

I would not for similar reasons to the other poster. One of the other things is i would not want to have to check references i would much rather go to a service that has already done this for me. Also i know my wife would not go for it at all. I am having to talk her into a professional service.

Thank you for your answers it is much appreciated :) and I certainly understand, just wanted to get a feel for responses

We used KNO in June of 09 for a 2yo and 7mo. She seemed to do a great job. She had coloring activities and I think brought a dvd player as they just stayed in room. The kids were in their pj's and asleep when we got back to the room. It was from maybe 6pm to almost midnight. I looked her up on facebook and saw she was a college student at a local school. It was a little costly, around $120 I think, but it was worth it to get out for 1 night w/the older kids.

Thanks OP for creating this thread! I was wondering the same thing as well. One of the various reason I became a SAHM (aside from the fact that I couldn't tear myself away from DS!) was because I find myself hard to trust random people with him. My grandmother watched all of us while our parents worked so I was always used to a family babysitting kind of thing. Not that there certainly aren't great daycares, or sitters out there, I just...ya know how moms can be?! Especially with a first born! Anyway, are there services that watch infants as well, like 5 months old and up? I'm really hoping that by the time we go next year I'll have gotten pregnant and had the baby. For some reason I thought kids had to be potty trained, can anyone shed any light on this???
