We have a trip in & around Montreal planned in June. Was looking for things to do with my teenage boys and found this "treetop-trekking" park called Abraska. High ropes courses through the trees with zip lines and nets. Looks like SO much fun Has anyone ever heard of it or been there or have any advice or thoughts? There is nothing like that around here. I would love to hear from someone who has visited. I don't even know where to start with questions.... how difficult are the expert courses? How full does it get? Is there a lot to do? Anything?

There are several locations, but I think those closest to Montreal are Rigaud and Rawdon? And then, if we visit the Rawdon location, I guess there is a place there called Dorwin Falls. Ever hear of that? What is that like?

Any thoughts you have, I'd appreciate!

My boyfriend did a similar activity (d'Arbre en Arbre=from Tree to Tree), just a different "brand", and really liked it, and would go back with a group anytime. Since I'm scared of heights, needless to say I stayed home! I don't know how hard is every course, but they will choose the course depending of the ages of the kids. Of course, reservations are mandatory, and be sure to mention you ONLY speak English, to make sure there's a bilingual instructor on-site.

Depending on where you are in Montreal, Rigaud, Rawdon, & St-Gregoire are suitable locations, with Rawdon being the furthest from downtown. The falls are a pretty nice location, very "natury", a good representation of the Laurentian forest. However, it's a common picnic area on Sundays for families, so it can get crowded on week-ends.

I just wanted to thank you for your response. The advice about an English-speaking instructor is especially helpful. I keep hearing different things about how French the area is. People tell me we will be fine and I say "but I can't even pronounce the street names!" So yes, I will keep that in mind. Thanks again.

In Montreal city itself and the surroundings, you should have no trouble finding someone to help you in English. However, if going further away, in the less "touristy" spots, it might be a bit harder, but I think (pure opinion, I'm French speaking) some people will make efforts (as in TRY to speak in English, and understand you, however it may sound!).

We're doing the treetop zip-line thing at Mont Tremblant this summer. The area is beautiful and there's tons of stuff to do. It is almost two hours out of Montreal though but it's a scenic drive.
