Last night I was reading the budget board
one of the threads wanted a soup recipe
and everyone basically said
"throw in whatever you have"

which inspired me
and I made veggie soup today


and it is really, really good!
Who knew soup could be SO easy?


Crock potted a roast
then added frozen mixed veggies, potatoes, corn, barley, can of diced tomatoes
ohhh la la!

Her foot is still sore and black and blue
but she is one tough cookie
and she will be fine, she insists!

First let me list happy things:
Soup for dinner was delicious!
Everyone is healthy!
I have a job.
I am blessed with delightful children.
DH is a great man.

Unhappy things:
plaster ceiling needs replaced, not just painted
I dropped a picture frame and broke the glass on the fireplace tonight
The new (not even hung yet) photo of DD13 was water damaged, now stuck to the glass
DS wrecked on the way home from swim tonight (he is fine, truck is not)


Just things.........but stress is high in our home tonight........

Who knew this parenting stuff was so hard???
They don't tell you that in the manual, that is for sure!







We are lucky DS wasn't injured (his back hurts a little)
We are lucky no one else was injured!

There was a jogger on the road that he didnt' see until he was right near them, then he swerved to miss them, lost control and ended up headfirst in a ditch (which should really be called a creek, but let's not freak the momma out)
Tow truck pulled out the truck, which will now go to a mechanic.
Back to bus riding for DS.


I really, really, really, hope DS has learned a lesson, gotten some insight as to how easy it is to have an accident. I don't think he had any fear before, invincible and youth are.....

pipe broke at school today and we had no heat
my nose dripped all day from the cold

and the internet was down

Didn't want Sarah to worry all day...
Everyone is fine, DS is a little stiff, but fine.
Grandma and Pappy made him feel better via phone
(parents may have been doing a little lecturing )

Off to school with a few minutes to spare this morn
DD13 is off to a competition (Math 24)
DD10 has had a hearty breakfast
and I am already one cuppa tea in

Going to be a good day!
