We are going in January and our son is meeting us for a week of our stay. Which do you think we would enjoy more? We will have no young children with us, so the pool doesn't matter. We have been members for 20 years, so of course my husband still loves OKW the best, but the 30 year old and I want to try a 2BR Savanna view room at Animal Kingdom. I just can't figure out which building to request. We will probably rent a scooter for my husband because of recent knee surgery, so those terribly long halls I hear about in Kidani shouldn't be too bad. Any suggestions? TIA

Jambo, larger lobby, stores, and more food. Seems like there is more activity and children.

Kidani, smaller lobby, less food, quieter, more laid back.

Animal viewing from either resort.

If you are doing a 2 bedroom for the 3 of you the extra bathroom at Kidani really isn't a benefit.

Are you renting a car? If yes, then Kidani will be easier for parking, especially with the scooter. If no, then do Jambo.

Do you use quick service a lot? If yes, then Jambo would be better.

Another slight advantage with Kidani is that the Disney Park buses all stop first at Kidani, then go to Jambo before heading to the Parks. If you are using a scooter, it might be easier to get on a bus at Kidani than on a crowded bus at Jambo.

If you are booking a two-bedroom, then remember that all of the two-bedroom villas at Jambo are lock-offs. At Kidani, you'll have a choice of booking a dedicated two-bedroom or a lock-off two bedroom.

Personally, I have a hard time choosing between Kidani and Jambo. I like them both. We've decided to alternate our stays; we stayed at Jambo in May, so our next trip to AKV will probably be at Kidani.

Thanks everyone I decided to go with the two bedroom savanna view at Kidani. Can't wait!

I brought my parents who are both in their 60's to Kidani 2 trips ago. They loved it. My dad needs a scooter as well for knees, back and A-fib and I was able to get a 1 Bedroom that was a 3-4 minute walk from the lobby. Every morning they went and filled their coffee in the store and then sat on the observation deck and watched the zebras in the rocking chairs. They both still say that was some of the most relaxing times they have every had at Disney even after 20+ visits for them over the years.

Good choice going with Kidani! The Jambo master bathrooms have a combined shower and (deep) tub. People have mentioned that it can be challenging to get in and out of that deep tub when all you want to do is take a shower.

If your DH has mobility issues, he will have an easier time at Kidani which has a separate shower stall.

ETA: The Kidani 2BRs are larger than the Jambo 2BRs. Coming from OKW, it will still be a shock at how small they are compared to OKW but at least you will be in the larger of the two options at AKV! Also, in Jambo the master bath is separated from the master BR by a small hallway. You cannot move between the two without being in view of other people in the 1BR portion (and even the studio if the connecting door is open). In the Kidani 1BRs, the master bath is directly connected to the master BR, giving you total privacy.
