My DH, DD(4) and I go to Disney at least 3 times a year for 3-5 day trips. We only live about 5 1/2 hours away. We are considering buying at SSR or a resale at another property. My concern is that we rarely plan 7 months out for these trips. We always go during low season. So is it impossible to book with points a couple months out if your flexible with which property? Also we would almost always just get a studio so are they easier to find availability with short notice than a bigger unit? :confused3

I think if you are flexible with the resort and possibly a day or two here or there for your ressie, you should be able to find something a few months out as long as it is not peak time (during holiday breaks and food and wine festival). You can always go on a waiting list. They come through quite often.

I booked several times last year and usually off times and never had a problem. I especially noticed there always seems to be room at SS. Nothing is a guarentee but I wouldn't loose sleep over it!

As long as there is not one particular property that would make or break your vacation if you culd or couldn't stay there, then it is completely possible to book less than 7 months out and get a room. It will probably usually be at OKW or SSR, since they are the largest of the DVC resorts I think, but both are lovely.

If your trips include Friday and Saturday nights, be sure you do the math. DVC may not be the best deal for you if your trips regularly include the more expensive weekend nights.

Best wishes -

Thank you all for the advice. We are going down in 18 days so I think we'll check into it more and maybe tour SSR!! Thank you again!!
