In light of ticket price increase rumors... upgrading to AP question:

In light of the upcoming price ticket changes, anyone have any speculative recommendations for my situation? If I called a CM would they even be able to answer the following questions.... accurately?

We have 4 day Fl resident park-hopper tickets with memory maker and are planning to upgrade to annual passes, 1 gold level and 2 silver, and planning to set up the monthly payment plan for the remaining difference. Although spoke with CM to confirm that can be done.

If the price of the annual pass increases before we upgrade, would they subtract the price of the ticket/MM purchase--indicating I should definitely go ahead and try to upgrade on the phone?

Or, as I've head happens in cases of purchasing 3rd party authorized sellers, if we used 1 day of the park hopper before upgrading, the increased ticket price value would be subtracted from the potentially higher annual pass price?

What to do.... ~.~

Are you saying that Memory Maker was included in the cost of your tickets? I am not sure of the Fl resident tickets with memory maker, but I know that the cost of memory maker has NOT been included in the upgrade value for others who purchased it in advance. For most people, upgrading a 4 day ticket to the new AP (which includes photopass benefits) costs the same whether or not you have purchased Memory Maker. You pay the difference between the 4 day ticket and the AP cost. So, that is basically $150 down the drain for people who already purchased MM in addition to their tickets. If the MM was included as part of the cost of the tickets, then I hope you would receive credit for the full cost paid, but I have not heard of this situation before.

I did buy MMM separate. We still have a balance due on our vacation package so I had called about dropping the MM, explained why, and was told the cost would be credited toward the cost of the AP. I'll call again to see if I get the same answer from a different CM.

When are you planning to upgrade? The new APs and associated costs just came out in October, which means the price of them won't increase until then. It's only the daily tickets that are supposed to increase in cost in the next few weeks.

Oh okay good! I'm upgrading in May. Didn't realize AP and ticket cost didn't go up together. I suppose I should have looked further into that.

Yes, they just jacked them way up in October - like $150/ticket! I think there would be a revolt if they upped the price again now... lol
