I'm moving to a house with an inground pool. I'm used to an above ground, so I'm basically clueless.

What type of cleaner do you use? Polaris, Aquabot, Dolphin?

Pros? Cons? Cost?

We have a Polaris 320. Works well. I need to buy a new bag once a year or so. I have had it rebuilt once. We've had it for about 8 years. I think a new one would cost 300. I clean it out three times a week but usually I just let it run with the filter.

We got a Kreepy Krauly last Spring and are happy with it. We got it with a rebate and a free leaf catcher. It's so nice to turn it on and let it clean.

We are having an in-ground pool installed and are complete novices. Do you need to use one of the systems or can you clean by hand?

We're in FL and are planning to put a pool in next year but with a screen room around it. If any of you have put in a screen, can I ask how much you paid for it and how big it was? I would LOVE not have to clean leaves out every day and keep the bugs out.

No you don't need one, but they make it much easier.

We have one of these and are very happy with it:thumbsup2

Kreepy Krawly...are those automatic? Drop in and leave it? Or you have to push it? I'm looking for the least amount of work...

You just drop it in and it moves around on its own.

You'll want a cleaner that has it's own seperate pump and line so that it does not take away from the main pump and it's job.

10 years ago we started with a 'Jet-Vac' that had it's own pump and line. When the jet-vac died 5 years ago we got a POLARIS and it has worked well.

Get two bags. One for sand/silt and the larger leaf bag for fall/winter.

Good Luck! :thumbsup2
